Affiliated with TETRA Technologies Inc. since 2022, Mr. Hester originally served as the director of finance for industrial chemicals and low-carbon energy until 2024. Recognized as a publicly traded company, TETRA was founded in 1981 and is based in The Woodlands, Texas. Before joining the organization, Mr. Hester served as the director of financial strategies at Kraton Corporation in 2023. This role involved leading a take-private merger deal that resulted in a successful sale to a Korean private equity company, showcasing his strong leadership and strategic vision. His effective communication and negotiation skills were instrumental in creating significant value for stakeholders. Mr. Hester started at Kraton Corporation as the senior manager of financial planning and analysis from 2018 to 2022.
Among other noteworthy roles, Mr. Hester served as the director of strategic planning at BWC Terminals between 2017 and 2018 and in the same capacity at Intercontinental Terminals Company LLC from 2016 to 2017. He also worked for Southwest Energy between 2011 and 2016, initially as a tax accountant II and then as a support services analyst and senior planning analyst. Mr. Hester began his professional journey as an associate and project manager at Alliantgroup, a national tax consulting services firm, in 2007.
Mr. Hester’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts from Texas Tech University in Austin in 2007 and a Master of Business Administration in energy finance from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 2014. He attributes much of his success to his education, as well as the unwavering support of his parents and spouse, who have been pivotal throughout his career.
Adding to his credentials, Mr. Hester is a professional member of the Finance Executive Institution in Houston. This allows him to network with like-minded individuals and remain at the forefront of his field. Beyond his work-related endeavors, Mr. Hester is actively involved with the Food Bank of Montgomery County and serves as a mentor for the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity.
