In addition to his role at Georgia Banking Company, Mr. Niethammer has excelled in his leading role as the chief financial officer of North Georgia Walk To Emmaus. Since 2023, he has been ensuring that the nonprofit Christian organization, also based in the Atlanta area, maintains a solid financial position. He also oversees the facility where weekend retreats are conducted. Mr. Niethammer’s role reflects his commitment to fostering leadership, community and spiritual growth within the church.
From 2024 to 2025, Mr. Niethammer excelled as a business development officer at Oconee State Bank. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in expanding the bank’s nationwide platform. Notably, he implemented the Paycheck Protection Program while stationed in Nashville, Tennessee, successfully lending $330 million without incidents of fraud or ineligible loans. Mr. Niethammer’s efforts earned him recognition as an industry insider on several radio talk shows.
Mr. Niethammer previously served as a senior consultant at Denovo International Inc. between 2023 and 2025. In this capacity, he utilized his extensive knowledge of business development and operations to provide strategic guidance and support to clients. Mr. Niethammer’s ability to navigate complex financial landscapes has been instrumental in driving success for the organizations he has served.
Among other noteworthy roles in the banking sector, Mr. Niethammer served as the director of government-guaranteed lending at CapStar Bank from 2018 to 2023. His leadership in this role was underscored by his selection for the inaugural class of the National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders’ Future Leading Lenders Program in 2022. This accolade highlighted Mr. Niethammer’s influence and foresight within the SBA lending community.
Mr. Niethammer’s career began at Synovus Financial Corporation, where he served as the regional credit manager for over a decade, starting in 2006. His long tenure there laid a strong foundation for his subsequent achievements, allowing him to hone his skills in credit management and client relations.
A graduate of the University of Georgia in Athens, Mr. Niethammer received a bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing in 1995. This degree played a crucial role in his future success in the field.
Beyond his primary professional endeavors, Mr. Niethammer is actively involved in the industry as a member of the National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders. Civically engaged, he has served as a builder with Habitat for Humanity. He is also a member of the finance committee at Midway United Methodist Church.
