Michael Rosales, founder and president of Rosales Consulting LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in human resources.

Celebrating 35 years in his esteemed career, Mr. Rosales established himself in his first job with Walmart in 1990. Beginning in a more entry-level role, he was gradually promoted into positions of more responsibility throughout 25 years with the company. Around 2000, Mr. Rosales started focusing more on the world of human resources, with a particular interest in “total rewards,” the sum of compensation, benefits and other bonuses that an employee receives for their job. By 2007, he had become a senior compensation manager at Walmart, before shifting over to the director of compensation for Sam’s Club in 2012.

After a brief time as the vice president of total rewards and shared services for Southeastern Grocers LLC, Mr. Rosales joined Coca-Cola Consolidated in 2018 as the vice president of total rewards. He considers this period of his career to be some of the most fruitful he has experienced so far, representing a moment of notable growth in his leadership. While working with Coca-Cola Consolidated, Mr. Rosales persuaded the company’s leadership team to completely overhaul its benefits program. By introducing changes to how the organization partnered with new vendors, he helped the company save $5 million annually.

Following his success at Coca-Cola Consolidated, Mr. Rosales was recruited to be head of people experience and total rewards with Allvue, where he remained for several years. Concurrently with that, he launched his own organization, Rosales Consulting LLC, where he serves as president. As a consultant, Mr. Rosales draws on his many years of experience to offer clients meaningful, actionable insights that can shape their policies for total rewards and beyond. He professes what he refers to as “the five be’s of leadership”: be transparent, be honest, be consistent, be patient and be calm.

Mr. Rosales’ performance in the field was born of his academic journey. He obtained an Associate of Arts in general studies from Hagerstown Community College. Subsequently, Mr. Rosales earned a bachelor’s degree in retail management from American Public University in 2018. He has further solidified his credentials with extensive training outside of an academic setting. Mr. Rosales is certified as a compensation professional and a global remuneration professional through the World at Work Society of Certified Professionals and as a human resources professional through the Society for Human Resource Management. He is also a fourth-degree black belt and licensed instructor through the American Taekwondo Association.

To remain aware of developments affecting his field, Mr. Rosales has maintained professional affiliation with a number of pertinent organizations. He has been a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and the World at Work Society of Certified Professionals since 2005. Mr. Rosales’ achievements were previously celebrated in a May 2017 profile in Hispanic Executive titled “When ‘Just a Job’ Turns Into a Career.” He attributes his success to his capability for meeting people where they are and giving them opportunities to grow, as well as his skill in public speaking and general communications.

Beyond his professional life, Mr. Rosales is the supportive head of a loving family as a husband, father to two and grandfather to four. He enjoys mountain biking and practicing martial arts in his free time. Mr. Rosales remains excited for future career opportunities, anticipating that he will continue working full-time for at least another decade before he retires. He hopes to find additional opportunities in consulting or other areas where he can leave a lasting legacy. Mr. Rosales envisions setting policies into motion that will last long after his departure and will continue to aid the organization in thriving well into the future.
