Ms. Brutus’s professional journey reflects a steadfast commitment to public service, education and humanitarian work.

Since 2022, Ms. Brutus has served as a career counselor with the State of Florida. In this capacity, she provides comprehensive career counseling services, advising job seekers on current local market information and prevailing wages for desired occupations. She also interviews clients to update their employment histories, educational backgrounds, and career goals, while identifying barriers to employment. Among other responsibilities, Ms. Brutus refers qualified candidates to recruiters and job opportunities, evaluates career satisfaction and identifies future opportunities for professional growth.

Ms. Brutus’s prior experiences included serving as a career consultant with Manpower in 2022. There, she provided tailored guidance to job seekers navigating the evolving labor market. Ms. Brutus also excelled as an operations coordinator for the COVID-19 response in Mali with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies from 2020 to 2021. She played a pivotal role in supporting international Red Cross operations across multiple regions and collaborated closely with headquarters in Switzerland.

Between 2019 and 2020, Ms. Brutus worked as a community epidemic and pandemic preparedness program delegate for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in Africa. Previously, from 2016 to 2019, she served as a community health manager with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

Ms. Brutus’s earlier humanitarian work included her role as chef de projet choléra for Croix-Rouge Française between 2014 and 2016, where she led cholera response projects following Haiti’s devastating 2010 hurricane. From 2010 to 2014, Ms. Brutus was adjointe responsable de programme eau-assainissement at Action Contre La Faim, overseeing water and sanitation programs critical to public health.

Apart from her work in this sector, Ms. Brutus excelled as a teacher, covering biology, natural sciences, and chemistry at both middle school and high school levels in Haiti through UNASMOH and the Ministère de l’Éducation Nationale for over a decade, beginning in 2001. She also instructed nursing students in genetics and cellular biology at the university level. During her tenure in education, Ms. Brutus served as logistics manager at the Center to Support Underprivileged Women and Children, where she coordinated resources for vulnerable populations from 2003 to 2008.

Ms. Brutus’s educational background culminated in a master’s degree equivalent in project development coordination at Solidarité Internationale from Bioforce in France in 2020. Her additional credentials include designation as a certified workforce development professional by the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals, credentials in English as a second language from the Haitian-American Institute, and training in emergency health coordination from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, among others.

Active in her professional community, Ms. Brutus is a member of the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals. Civically invested, she assumed the role of volunteer regional preparedness program lead with the American Red Cross in 2025. Through this position, Ms. Brutus leads initiatives that enhance disaster preparedness across South Florida, furthering her impact on community resilience.

Throughout her career, Ms. Brutus’s background as both a career counselor and an emergency management leader has provided her with a broad perspective that enhances her guidance capabilities. Looking ahead, she plans to establish an organization featuring both business and nonprofit branches, focused on producing innovative products that support child care initiatives while assisting small businesses through the reinvestment of generated capital into community programs. Ms. Brutus also remains dedicated to contributing toward justice initiatives and business training within Florida by creating employment opportunities, facilitating job placements and identifying sectors requiring workforce development to support ongoing job creation efforts statewide.
