Before being acquired by Metrocall USA, Mr. Carmichael worked as a senior telecommunications analyst at American Mobile Satellite Company in Reston, Virginia, beginning in 1995. His responsibilities included resolving complex technical issues and supporting the company’s mission-critical operations during a period of rapid industry change, where he was involved in the development of a call center.
Mr. Carmichael began his professional journey as a systems engineer at Electronic Data Systems, now Hewlett Packard Enterprise Development LP, in Alexandria, Virginia, in 1989. This opportunity involved traveling internationally to the United States, Germany, Japan and Korea to establish computer processing equipment and train end-users on the operation of the equipment and software.
In preparation for his future, Mr. Carmichael earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in computer information systems management, magna cum laude, from Francis Marion University in Florence, South Carolina, in 1989. He also received several industry certifications, as well as multiple certifications related to fire and rescue.

He also received several Service Awards and a Leadership Award from the Combined Fire and Rescue System in Loudoun County, as well as a Presidential Volunteer Service Award from the Office of the President of the United States.
Mr. Carmichael attributes much of his success to his faith and fortunate timing, recalling pivotal moments when colleagues recognized his abilities and invited him into new opportunities. Looking ahead, he aims to continue making intellectual contributions to Legacy Christian Academy. Mr. Carmichael envisions guiding the institution as it continues to grow and make a positive impact, while ensuring that every student graduates with a strong Christian foundation.
