In 2025, Mr. Dayal assumed the role of director of investment banking at PEI Global Partners LLC in Tampa, Florida, a newly founded investment bank specializing in mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, equity, post-equity and debt transactions. The firm is renowned for its strategic advisory services to clients in the power sector, including those developing renewable energy sources and conventional generation, such as natural gas and coal.
In his position, Mr. Dayal is responsible for bringing in new business, managing the day-to-day operations of various transactions and overseeing the resources involved. He engages directly with clients, often at the C-suite level, providing advisory services and securing new deals for the firm. Mr. Dayal’s work predominantly involves development and investment companies, private equity firms and asset owners in the power generation space. His strategic insight into investor asset portfolios has been instrumental in expanding the firm’s reach into clean fuels and related services.
Before becoming a director, Mr. Dayal was a vice president at PEI Global Partners LLC from 2024 to 2025. He was recruited after a year-long engagement with the firm, reflecting his strong reputation in the industry. During this period, he played a pivotal role in establishing the company’s presence in the United States and contributed to its rapid growth in the power sector.
Relocating from Canada to join PEI Global Partners, Mr. Dayal had spent his entire career with two different investment banks. From 2022 to 2024, he was the vice president of investment banking at Mizuho in Toronto, a prominent Japanese investment bank. He was recruited as one of the first employees to help establish Mizuho’s Canadian investment banking operations. In this role, Mr. Dayal was instrumental in expanding the business from Toronto, building teams focused on oil and gas in Calgary and power and utilities in Toronto. His leadership contributed to the successful launch and growth of Mizuho’s Canadian platform.
Mr. Dayal came from RBC Capital Markets in Toronto. Hired in 2012 as a business analyst, he was recruited into the technology program to help build software solutions for trading and investment banking. This opportunity enabled him to bridge the gap between business and technology, giving him a unique perspective on the industry. In 2014, Mr. Dayal became a fixed-income analyst and, in 2017, began serving as an associate in fixed income, currencies and commodities at RBC Capital Markets. One year later, he worked as a summer associate in global investment banking. He then spent 2019 through 2021 as an associate in infrastructure finance. His last year with the firm was in 2022, as the vice president of infrastructure finance, where he focused on financing and developing major infrastructure projects across Canada, including bridges, toll roads and hospitals, as well as energy and power transmission deals.
Earlier, Mr. Dayal gained experience as a summer research analyst in the office of the budget, taxation and pensions at the Ontario Ministry of Finance in 2010. He also gained fundamental expertise as a summer analyst in foreign exchange sales at RBC Investor Services in 2010 and in cash equities and electronic trading at CIBC World Markets in 2011.
Mr. Dayal has held a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Waterloo since 2012 and a Master of Business Administration in finance from the University of Toronto in 2019. In addition to his academic achievements, he has obtained several industry certifications that have enhanced his expertise. Mr. Dayal holds the Series 79 and the Securities Industry Essentials certifications from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. He also completed the equity trader training course and the fixed income trading and sales course through the Canadian Securities Institute and earned the Canadian Securities Course certification.
