Hartford Sprinkler Company Inc. specializes in the installation of sprinkler systems, fire alarms, fire extinguishers, emergency exit lighting and more. The company also provides backflow testing, ensuring that drinking and sprinkler water is safe, and fire pump testing, making sure that existing sprinkler systems will operate as intended.
As the president of Hartford Sprinkler Company Inc., Mr. Kita handles project management across the organization’s installation work. He also consults with potential clients to determine their needs and reviews existing jobs to ensure everything is being delivered to a high standard of quality.
Among his accomplishments, Mr. Kita is most proud of expanding the company to its current size. When he took over as president, it had just seven employees, but it now employs just under 50 people. During the difficulties of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Kita was able to keep his team of 37 together despite many challenges. He takes pride in not losing any staff during that period, even as construction sites and other projects were abandoned or put on hold, significantly impacting Hartford Sprinkler Company Inc.’s main source of revenue.
Mr. Kita’s career has been supported by his academic journey. He earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Connecticut in 1993. Mr. Kita has found additional guidance through his affiliation with a number of organizations relevant to the industry. He maintains membership in the American Fire Sprinkler Association and the National Fire Protection Association.
Well-regarded for his contributions to the field, Mr. Kita has been celebrated with multiple accolades. Most notably, he received the Merit of Healthcare Excellence Award from Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) in 2025. Mr. Kita attributes his success to his deeply supportive wife, whom he has been married to for 26 years. He notes that she has consistently demonstrated understanding and a willingness to make sacrifices in order to help him advance.
Outside of his professional life, Mr. Kita devotes much of his time to his family, including his 23-year-old daughter and 21-year-old son. He and his wife are also currently raising two chickens. Mr. Kita’s preferred pastimes include gardening and fishing. He is committed to giving back to the community through such efforts as donating to the Five Corner Cupboard Food Pantry located in East Windsor, Connecticut.
When considering the future of Hartford Sprinkler Company Inc., Mr. Kita is focused on one priority for 2026: expanding the company’s alarm division. The company has only recently expanded beyond sprinklers and toward being a full-service provider for building safety systems. As such, Mr. Kita views fire alarms as a key area for growth in the years ahead. As with all of the organization’s offerings, he intends to maintain a high degree of quality, working closely with building owners and construction teams to install the best system for each building, while also ensuring these systems are in accordance with all local regulations. The company also offers maintenance, repairs, upgrades and replacements for existing fire alarm systems.
