Mr. Saunders then served as an airport systems superintendent at LaGuardia Airport in New York. During this period, he was responsible for managing critical infrastructure projects, ensuring the seamless integration of advanced systems, and maintaining rigorous quality and security standards. The airport notably received a coveted award for his contributions during this time.
From 2019 to 2024, Mr. Saunders also served as a construction security manager at BL Harbert International in Casablanca-Settat, Morocco. Simultaneously, from 2019 to 2021, he worked as a construction security manager for Caddell International in Nassau, Bahamas. His dual responsibilities during this time underscored his ability to manage multiple international projects while maintaining exceptional safety and operational efficiency standards.
Earlier in his career, from 2009 to 2011, Mr. Saunders excelled as an international security manager and TSS superintendent at Caddell International in Djibouti City, Djibouti. He managed the design and installation of temporary TSS for the camp and compound, while overseeing the relocation of telecommunications and TSS on the American Embassy compound, further honing his expertise in international environments. In 2008 and 2009, Mr. Saunders was a TSS superintendent at Yates International LLC in Mumbai, India.
Mr. Saunders’s professional journey began with J.A. Jones International LLC from 2004 to 2008 as an overseas technician working throughout Europe, Africa and Central America. This foundational experience provided him with broad exposure to diverse cultures and operational challenges.
Mr. Saunders’ educational background includes an associate degree in mechanical engineering from Cayuga County Community College, earned in 1998, followed by coursework in graphic design at the Savannah College of Art and Design, completed in 2000. He also holds several industry certifications that have contributed to his success, including ITS Installer I & II certifications awarded by BICSI in 2010 and an Occupational Safety and Health Administration-30 certification from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 2013. These credentials have equipped Mr. Saunders with advanced knowledge of safety protocols and information transport systems essential for managing complex international projects.
Throughout his career, Mr. Saunders has been recognized for his commitment to excellence and leadership in the industry. Over approximately two decades, he played a pivotal role in telecommunications, security and fiber-optics for diplomatic facilities across the globe. As part of his continued commitment to the field, Mr. Saunders is a member of BICSI, reflecting his dedication to ongoing professional development within the telecommunications sector.
Mr. Saunders credits his achievements to the unwavering support of his family, particularly his son, who has been a major source of motivation in his pursuits. His entry into the profession was influenced by colleagues who encouraged him to join The Walsh Group after working at the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan, a decision that shaped the trajectory of his career through subsequent assignments across Norway, New York and various overseas locations before returning to Wisconsin.
