The campus features thoughtfully designed cottage homes, duplexes and a game house, fostering a neighborhood atmosphere where residents can watch sports, host gatherings and spend time with friends. Mr. Ferreri’s commitment to providing an extension of life marked by comfort and engagement for those facing memory challenges is evident in every aspect of the facility’s design and operation.
Before opening Field of Dreams Allegany, Mr. Ferreri was the president and chief executive officer of Tanglewood Group, which encompasses five senior living communities throughout Western New York. In this capacity, he led the organization, focusing on innovative solutions for senior living and care. Mr. Ferreri’s leadership was characterized by a drive to help others succeed, which he considers his greatest professional achievement. Solving problems for others brought him significant fulfillment and shaped the culture of the organizations he led.
Notably, the Tanglewood Group communities became nationally recognized for their revolutionary senior living and memory care. Mr. Ferreri also received notoriety from University of Florida scientists and researchers in the field, who modeled his work and asked him to collaborate to help find a cure.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Ferreri worked at International Harvester, gaining valuable experience in business operations and management. He also spent 15 years working with The Laidlaw Foundation, broadening his expertise in organizational development and philanthropy.
Mr. Ferreri’s academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in business from Alfred University, where he played collegiate basketball before graduating in 1964. The education he received provided a strong foundation for his achievements in business and senior care innovation.
Recognizing his career achievements, Mr. Ferreri received an Honorary Doctor of Commercial Science from his alma mater in 2025, where he has also been recognized for his generosity as a benefactor. He credits his parents for instilling in him the belief that he could accomplish anything, a principle that has guided his professional journey and continues to inspire his ongoing efforts.
Born in Buffalo, New York, Mr. Ferreri is the father of four children. He remains dedicated to bringing joy and dignity to seniors and individuals with dementia at Field of Dreams Allegany. Additionally, he is eager to collaborate with scientists and hopes to gain the support of President Trump in pursuing a cure for dementia.
