Dianne M. Martinez, Associate Director of Financial Systems at AT&T, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements and leadership in Telecommunications.

Ms. Martinez has established a notable 25-year career in telecommunications at AT&T. Since 2023, she has served as associate director of financial systems, overseeing the company’s financial and management reporting systems. In this capacity, Ms. Martinez directs the data intake from multiple accounting systems and general ledgers into a centralized reporting platform, ensuring accurate expense allocation across approximately 300 business units. She also maintains the hierarchical reporting structure for major segments, such as consumer, business and international operations, guaranteeing that expenses are appropriately attributed to officer-led business units for internal management purposes.

In her leading role, Ms. Martinez’s responsibilities are critical in supporting leadership decision-making by delivering comprehensive, accurate and structured financial and headcount data. She ensures day-to-day system balances and data integrity, oversees the closing and reconciliation of monthly and quarterly management financials, and acts as a liaison between business unit contacts and the management reporting system. Furthermore, Ms. Martinez is instrumental in supporting frequent organizational changes driven by leadership decisions, aligning reporting structures with current priorities, and facilitating communication across business units on reporting requirements. Her expertise in team management and reporting systems has been widely recognized within the organization.

A highlight of Ms. Martinez’s professional achievements has been developing a comprehensive reporting system to track contractor and consulting expenses at AT&T. Before this initiative, there was no structured method for monitoring these costs. By creating a detailed framework that clearly identified and categorized expenditures, Ms. Martinez enabled each business unit to access and review its monthly spending on these services. This innovation streamlined the reporting process, provided leadership with valuable insights into spending patterns and trends, and allowed for more informed decision-making at all levels of the organization. Ms. Martinez’s contributions led to involvement in multiple special reporting projects, further demonstrating her impact.

Ms. Martinez held several other positions at AT&T beginning in 2000. She started as a financial analyst, where she developed foundational skills in financial analysis and reporting. Her performance led to advancement to lead financial systems analyst, a role in which she managed increasingly complex projects and mentored junior staff. Additionally, Ms. Martinez became an active member of Women of AT&T, participated in the AT&T Rockstar Manager Program, an initiative recognizing exceptional employees, and engaged with various honor societies.

Before joining AT&T, Ms. Martinez gained valuable consulting experience at USAA, a nationwide bank and insurance company headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. She also worked as a management analyst in the City of San Antonio’s economic development Department for more than a year, contributing to municipal initiatives that fostered economic growth.

Ms. Martinez’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration in management, earned in 1996 and 1998, respectively, from the University of Texas at San Antonio. During her university years, she was selected for the inaugural leadership development team, where she mentored elementary school children. This formative experience shaped Ms. Martinez’s commitment to mentorship throughout her career.

Beyond her professional responsibilities, Ms. Martinez is committed to civic engagement. She has volunteered with animal-welfare organizations by fostering dogs and cats and has served as a mentor to elementary school children through university-sponsored programs. Ms. Martinez’s dedication to service is further reflected in her participation on the University of Texas at San Antonio’s leadership development team.

Ms. Martinez’s accomplishments have been recognized with several honors, including the 2025 AT&T Ownership Award. She attributes much of her success to her upbringing and the strong work ethic instilled by her grandfather. From an early age, she was motivated to become self-sufficient and resilient, qualities that have guided her through challenging tasks and complex projects. Ms. Martinez emphasizes the importance of fostering supportive environments and building strong relationships within teams, crediting mutual support as essential to her professional journey. Additionally, she acknowledges the influence of a former supervisor and mentor whose leadership provided valuable guidance throughout her career.

Hoping her legacy will be defined by providing opportunities for others, Ms. Martinez continues to generously share her knowledge. Lauded as a strong team player who helped build cohesive teams through mentorship and collaboration, she is eager for future success. She remains dedicated to supporting her team and organization while mentoring emerging leaders at AT&T. Additionally, Ms. Martinez aims to empower others to excel by identifying their strengths, encouraging them to take on new challenges, and building their confidence. Her focus is on fostering collaboration across all levels of the organization, ensuring that employees are valued as the backbone of operational success, and contributing meaningfully to initiatives that strengthen workplace culture.
