Mr. Tippett has become recognized for his expertise in supply chain and manufacturing management, marked by more than three decades of progressive leadership and operational expertise across multiple industries and continents. Since 2023, he has served as a senior supply chain manager at American Chrome & Chemicals, Inc., where he is responsible for ensuring the strategic plan encompasses all aspects of operations. His role includes reviewing sales forecasts to identify potential gaps, assessing production for interruptions related to operators or materials, coordinating with purchasing to confirm timely delivery of goods and logistics, and breaking down annual plans into actionable tasks. Mr. Tippett’s oversight extends to operations across nearly a dozen, reflecting his capacity to manage complex, large-scale supply chains.
Before joining American Chrome & Chemicals, Inc., Mr. Tippett was a supply chain and purchasing manager for the Americas at Elkem ASA from 2021 to 2023. In this capacity, he led a pivotal project to import Chinese materials into the United States, orchestrating efficient logistics that ensured delivery within two days. Mr. Tippett developed a comprehensive heat map, identified logistics hubs, inspected and certified warehouses, and increased shipments from minimal quantities to over a kiloton per month within three months, which was all accomplished even before finalizing warehouse locations. Additionally, he managed an expansion project for a vaccine product line, assembling a team and securing funding to stabilize a cell culture medium with a high failure rate. Within six months, his leadership led all batches to pass quality tests and tripled output, culminating in a meeting with the chief executive officer to discuss the project’s profitability.
Hired by Elkem ASA in 2017, Mr. Tippett spent his first few years with the organization as a supply chain and purchasing manager. His foundational expertise began many years earlier, in 1995, when he was acquired by Ferro Corporation, a leading global technology company in color solutions, functional coatings and specialty minerals based in Ohio. Over nearly two decades, he progressed through roles such as manufacturing manager, global business process architect and North American supply chain manager, until 2017. Throughout his career, Mr. Tippett continued to refine his expertise in chemical manufacturing and global logistics while collaborating with suppliers across diverse markets, including pharmaceuticals, plastics, porcelain, enamel, polymer additives, silicones and resins.
Mr. Tippett’s professional journey is also distinguished by his military service as a first sergeant in the Wisconsin Army National Guard from 1991 to 2012. He achieved the distinction of being the first National Guard master gunner, a testament to his leadership abilities and technical acumen. Mr. Tippett’s military background instilled in him a disciplined approach to organization and decision-making that has been integral throughout his civilian career.
In 2012, Mr. Tippett earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He also became OSHA 40 certified, underscoring his commitment to workplace safety standards.
Civically engaged, Mr. Tippett serves as the president of his homeowners’ association, where he applies his organizational skills to benefit the community. Throughout his career, he has received numerous accolades recognizing his leadership and contributions. These honors include the Richard Bong Award from the Wisconsin Army National Guard in 2005 and the President’s Award from Elkem ASA in 2019. He also received numerous military accolades, including a Bronze Star Medal from the Wisconsin Army National Guard.
Mr. Tippett attributes much of his success to principles learned during military service, particularly organization and decisive leadership. Looking ahead, he aims to retire while taking on greater responsibilities in supply chain management. Having held global positions across the Americas and collaborated with professionals worldwide, Mr. Tippett aspires to become a global supply chain director in his next role.
