Since 2025, Mr. Ramakrishnan has served as a lead platform product manager – technical at Veem in San Francisco, California. In this capacity, he manages stablecoin integration for virtual bank accounts and oversees the issuance of these accounts across key markets, including Canada, Mexico, the U.S. and Brazil. Mr. Ramakrishnan also leads an engineering team that includes more than 25 members, distributed across Mexico, Brazil and Canada.

Mr. Ramakrishnan’s responsibilities encompass sprint planning and grooming, conducting retrospectives, and defining product requirements for both virtual bank accounts and virtual cards. He has played a pivotal role in integrating with Stripe and Circle on the API platform. Among his most notable achievements at Veem, however, was the successful rollout of stablecoin integrations for virtual bank accounts targeting major international markets with plans for expansion into Africa. Mr. Ramakrishnan was instrumental in launching stored value solutions through a card system that provides yield and rewards to users. Additionally, he collaborated closely with Marketa and Grain to facilitate the issuance of stablecoin-based virtual cards, demonstrating a unified approach to managing both virtual bank accounts and card features.

From 2017 to 2025, Mr. Ramakrishnan held the position of lead product manager – technical at PayPal in San Francisco. During his tenure, he made significant contributions to the PayPal Commerce platform by leading API integration efforts for major partners across various tiers, from small businesses to large enterprises. His work enabled the onboarding of tens of thousands of Shopify’s end customers and enhanced payment volume for both first-party and third-party marketplaces. Notably, Mr. Ramakrishnan holds several patents from this period related to risk management, blockchain technology, identity verification, and user personalization using machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI). One of his most prominent patents in cryptocurrency was filed in 2017 while at PayPal.

During the first quarter of 2017, Mr. Ramakrishnan worked as a software engineer at DPP Tech in Austin, Texas, for its client PayPal. He contributed to critical software development projects that laid the groundwork for his subsequent leadership roles. Between 2015 and 2016, he also served as a project lead at Syntel Inc. (now Atos Syntel) in San Jose, California, for its client PayPal.

A career in this sector that dates back 20 years, Mr. Ramakrishnan also held leading roles at Cognizant, where he supported clients such as Symantec in Eugene, Oregon, and The Home Depot in Atlanta, Georgia, as well as eBusinessWare and the Royal Bank of Scotland plc (now NatWest Markets PLC). Mr. Ramakrishnan began his career as a software engineer at Satyam Computer Services Ltd. (now Mahindra Satyam) in 2006.

Mr. Ramakrishnan’s academic background has been foundational to his success. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in electronics and communication from Anna University in Madras, where he graduated first class with distinction, a testament to his early dedication to academic excellence. Mr. Ramakrishnan also acquired an Executive Master of Business Administration from the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, California, where he graduated among the top 10% of his class and was named valedictorian. His professional credentials include designations such as Microsoft-certified application developer and International Software Testing Qualifications Board certification. Mr. Ramakrishnan speaks multiple languages, including English, Tamil, Hindi, Spanish and Russian.

Throughout his career journey, Mr. Ramakrishnan has been recognized for his technical acumen and innovative mindset. He is an active member of several industry organizations, including the National Association of Software and Service Companies, reflecting his commitment to professional excellence.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Ramakrishnan is deeply engaged with civic-minded organizations. He serves as a mentor for the Bronco Venture Accelerator at Santa Clara University, where he leads discussions with venture capitalists in Silicon Valley and provides guidance to students. Additionally, Mr. Ramakrishnan volunteers with Benevity and Karma as both a donor and participant.

Mr. Ramakrishnan attributes his accomplishments to applying thought processes from new product innovation into practical solutions within software and fintech environments, emphasizing that meaningful innovation often arises from enhancing routine operations rather than radical departures from established practices. Looking ahead, he intends to deepen his expertise within the stablecoin middleware API space, focusing on building scalable solutions across North America, India, Asia Pacific and Africa, while leveraging experience gained through collaborations with institutions to provide regulatory clarity for fintech players operating within this rapidly evolving sector. Mr. Ramakrishnan is particularly interested in exploring how generative AI technologies intersect with stablecoin innovation, aiming to drive impactful advancements within global financial ecosystems.
