C. Alan Hall, President and Managing Partner at Hall Lane Movers New York, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the Transportation and Logistics Industry.

A distinguished leader in the transportation and logistics sector, Mr. Hall has served as the president and managing partner of Hall Lane Movers New York since 2024. Recognized as a full-service moving and storage company with a legacy dating back to 1950, he assumed this leadership role following the passing of his brother and long-time business partner.

Over more than 45 years, Mr. Hall has demonstrated exceptional expertise in residential and commercial moving services, including packing and unpacking household goods and office items, disassembly and reassembly of specialty items, custom crating for artwork and commercial assets, loading, transport and full unpacking services. His proficiency extends to on-site storage solutions for both residential and commercial deliveries, local moves within the regional footprint, long-distance relocations across the United States, cross-border moves to Canada and international setup for destinations such as England. Today’s operations notably handle local moves that account for about 40% of volume, while the other 60% involve long-distance relocations within the United States or internationally.

Among other tasks, Mr. Hall has overseen corporate relocations, project-based logistics for new store openings, delivery of commercial equipment to new sites and light rigging for heavy machinery. For 35 consecutive years, he has also managed large-scale distribution operations, such as delivering Girl Scout cookies across Nassau and Suffolk counties, New York.

Mr. Hall’s early responsibilities included sweeping floors and working every summer alongside his father before he fully committed to the family business at age 20 after attending college. In 1977, he became the company’s vice president, a position he held until 2024. During this period, Mr. Hall was instrumental in expanding the company’s reach from its roots in Queens, New York, to a prominent presence on Long Island. Under his guidance, the company has maintained its headquarters in Commack, New York, since 1970 and grown its fleet to approximately 40 pieces of equipment.

Throughout his career, Mr. Hall has distinguished himself by his unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction and employee well-being. He is known for personally addressing customer concerns regardless of fault and fostering a workplace culture built on loyalty and open communication. This hands-on approach has contributed significantly to the company’s reputation for reliability and service excellence. As a dual-branded agent for both North American Van Lines and Allied Van Lines under a shared parent company, Mr. Hall manages blue and orange truck fleets to expand customer service avenues.

Education played an important role in shaping Mr. Hall’s approach to business management. He completed coursework in business administration, management and operations at Suffolk County Community College in Selden, New York, providing him with essential skills that have supported his success in navigating complex logistics challenges and operations. Mr. Hall has also become an active member of several industry organizations, including the Hauppauge Industrial Association, where he recently expanded his local business network within Hauppauge Industrial Park. He also served as the president of the Long Island Moving and Storage Association for two years and continues monthly involvement with the organization to discuss industry developments. Mr. Hall’s professional affiliations further include roles as a dual-branded agent with North American Van Lines Inc. and Allied Van Lines Inc.

Mr. Hall’s civic engagement has been extensive as well. He participated in the Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon as a youth fundraiser and continues to support charitable causes through regular donations to organizations such as Tunnel to Towers Foundation. For many years, his company sponsored the annual cancer walk at Jones Beach by donating trucks, workforce and equipment to support event logistics. Through Move For Hunger, Mr. Hall’s teams collect nonperishable food items from clients during moves for delivery to local food banks, a commitment that earned special recognition from the organization about five years ago. Each month, Hall Lane Movers New York volunteers trucks and drivers to collect food pallets from supermarkets for distribution across food banks. His business also supports regional high schools through newsletter advertising and provides operational assistance to Girl Scouts initiatives.

Recognition for Mr. Hall’s achievements is reflected in numerous awards earned by Hall Lane Movers New York under his stewardship. The company has been named Best Moving Company by FourLeaf Best of L.I., presented by FourLeaf Federal Credit Union and Schneps Media, eight times between 2017 and 2025. It consistently ranks among the top three cash-on-delivery bookers for North American Van Lines over the last eight years, an accomplishment that stands out among large agency competitors nationwide. Mr. Hall’s business has also received corporate safety awards and top booker recognition during its three decades with United Van Lines and 15 years with North American Van Lines. Move For Hunger honored the company as Agent of the Year in 2021 after it donated more food than any other participating agent that year. Additional accolades include multiple outstanding service awards from Girl Scouts of the United States of America for logistical support.

Mr. Hall attributes his longevity in the industry to lessons learned from both positive examples and mistakes observed throughout his career, a philosophy instilled by his father, who encouraged him to work with other moving companies early on to gain perspective on best practices as well as pitfalls to avoid. This mindset has guided him through decades marked by technological advancements and evolving U.S. Department of Transportation regulations that require adaptability far beyond a standard workday schedule.

Mr. Hall’s professional legacy is defined by mutual respect among peers who value his opinion not only for its insight but also because they see him as a dependable friend, a rare quality some describe as “a dying breed.” Looking ahead, he is focused on securing the future of Hall Lane Movers New York by preparing capable successors while carving out more time for family pursuits alongside continued community involvement.
