Mr. Brown is recognized for his distinguished leadership in the nonprofit sector as the founder and president of both The Chavaza Brown Foundation, Inc., and Chavaza Gives Back, LLC. These organizations reflect his deep commitment to philanthropy and community service. The foundation, which was launched in 2021 and is dedicated to providing scholarships to high school and college students in honor of his mother’s 39-year career as an educator, also offers free tutoring services, healthcare screenings and meal programs for families during the holiday season. Meanwhile, Chavaza Gives Back, LLC, which was established just two weeks apart from the foundation, focuses on volunteerism, public service and clothing donations for those in need. Mr. Brown operates both a corporation and a nonprofit entity with a philanthropic mission, emphasizing the importance of giving back after receiving support from many throughout his life.

Before his work in nonprofit leadership, Mr. Brown joined the FBI in Houston, Texas, in 2006 at age 24, where he remained until 2013. During his tenure, he held various centralized roles across multiple operational areas within the bureau. His experience included service as an emergency first responder and membership in the Crisis Management Unit. Notably, Mr. Brown completed over 900 hours of formal FBI training and contributed to the FBI director’s advisory committee executive council.

In 2013, Mr. Brown transitioned from national security to healthcare and research by relocating to Atlanta, Georgia. He accepted a position at the school of medicine at Emory University, where he became involved in research and clinical trials within an institution renowned for academic research excellence. Initially hired for fiscal year-end closing responsibilities due to his finance background, Mr. Brown’s role expanded over time as he earned several promotions and worked intermittently with Emory while pursuing further professional growth in medical research.

Mr. Brown later advanced to serve as a senior analyst at Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc., continuing his work in healthcare administration and research from 2015 onward. His experience spans optometry, ophthalmology, pharmacy and research, all fields that have allowed him to explore connections between patient care and scientific inquiry. Mr. Brown became particularly passionate about serving older adults on fixed incomes or government assistance, inspired by his own family background.

Possessing a rich educational background, Mr. Brown earned a bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing and public relations from Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 2003. He also completed a Master of Business Administration in 2012, which provided foundational expertise for his subsequent roles in finance and management across industries. Additional academic achievements included studies in nuclear medicine technology at Duke University, coursework in medical biotechnology and neurosciences at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, biblical studies with concentrations in Old Testament and New Testament at Harvard University, as well as business administration, economics and financial economics at Harvard University, theology with a focus on pastoral ministry at Princeton University, civil and environmental engineering at Cornell University, and international business management at the University of Phoenix. Furthermore, Mr. Brown’s professional credentials include a pharmacy-based immunization delivery certification earned through the American Pharmacists Association in 2021, which enabled him to serve as a pharmacy coordinator administering over 100 vaccinations to children and adults.

Throughout his career journey, Mr. Brown has maintained active involvement with industry-related organizations, has contributed to civic-minded organizations and has supported youth ministry initiatives. Notably, through The Chavaza Brown Foundation, Inc., he has maintained direct involvement with community outreach projects, including annual food drives during major holidays, free health assessments for underserved populations and technology donations to deserving students.

In recognition of his efforts during Hurricane Ike relief operations while serving in the FBI, Mr. Brown received a Commendation Award from then-FBI Director Robert S. Mueller in 2009 after being named Employee of the Month in 2008. He also received several accolades from the Records Management Unit. Additionally, Mr. Brown was recognized by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., for community service and youth development.

Mr. Brown attributes his accomplishments to strong values instilled during childhood by his parents. Growing up surrounded by positive influences shaped his approach to leadership and service. He defines success not solely by tangible achievements but by character, and he remains committed to humility despite numerous accolades throughout his journey.

Looking ahead, Mr. Brown plans to return to a full-time career with the FBI while continuing part-time work within healthcare fields where he has invested significant professional development over more than a decade. He also intends to become a franchise owner. Furthermore, Mr. Brown aims to expand community outreach by establishing Chavaza Cares Corporation as a nonprofit focused primarily on supporting older adults through programs modeled after Meals on Wheels, including nursing home visits tailored for individuals aged 65 years or older.
