Since establishing Hippo Vending in 2024, she has led the company’s growth throughout Central Texas, providing modern vending solutions that incorporate advanced cashless technologies and tailored product offerings. Ms. Lovstad’s expertise in process mapping and foundational business strategy has enabled her to develop efficient workflows and implement solutions that enhance operational performance across all aspects of the business. Managing logistics, tracking inventory through application-based systems and overseeing financial records using QuickBooks are among her core responsibilities as the company’s founder.
In addition to her entrepreneurial endeavors with Hippo Vending, Ms. Lovstad serves as the vice president of finance at Kings Hill Consortium, based in Austin, Texas, since 2024. Her dual roles reflect a remarkable ability to balance executive leadership with hands-on management.
Before launching her own business ventures, Ms. Lovstad was a finance project manager at IBM from 2021 to 2024. At IBM, she managed a global team of over 20 employees and gained invaluable insight into corporate finance and international operations. Ms. Lovstad’s tenure at IBM reinforced the importance of graciousness and advocacy for team members, lessons that continue to inform her approach to leadership.
Ms. Lovstad’s earlier professional journey included serving as a managing partner at Lovstad Group LLC from 2019 to 2021 and as a treasury operations analyst at Visio Lending in 2019. She also spent five years with Legg Mason & Company beginning in 2014 before building a foundation in banking at People’s United Bank in Connecticut from 2006 to 2014.
The period Ms. Lovstad spent at People’s United Bank during the 2008 financial crisis stands as the defining highlight of her career. Witnessing firsthand the struggles faced by families navigating mortgage challenges deepened her understanding of finance’s real-world impact and motivated her to pursue advanced education while working full-time. This pivotal experience solidified Ms. Lovstad’s long-term commitment to financial expertise and helping others achieve greater financial security.
Before her work in finance, Ms. Lovstad gained experience in customer relations and business operations at a Hallmark gift shop from 2001 to 2006. Each role contributed to her comprehensive skill set in analyzing business operations, diagnosing technical issues and streamlining workflows for improved efficiency.
Ms. Lovstad earned a diploma from West High School. She later acquired a Bachelor of Science in financial management from the school of business at the University of Connecticut in Stamford in 2017 and a master’s degree in global finance from the Gabelli school of business from Fordham University in New York in 2022. Further distinguishing herself, Ms. Lovstad has obtained numerous credentials over the past few years, including a master loan processor certification from Mortgage University Inc., d/b/a CampusMortgage, life and health certification from the State of Connecticut, Series 99 licensure from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Lean Six Sigma black belt certification and, among others, certification in project management through Cornell University.
A member of several industry-related organizations, including the Finance Society at Fordham University, Ms. Lovstad has demonstrated a commitment to continuous learning and professional excellence. She has also served in leadership roles within professional organizations, contributing to strategic initiatives and mentoring colleagues across the industry.
Ms. Lovstad’s civic involvement has been extensive. As the managing director of The Aidan Kongshoj Lovstad Foundation since 2026 and as an organizer of the Hippo Weekend Table Food Pantry initiative, she has been dedicated to supporting children with artistic talents as well as families experiencing food insecurity. Ms. Lovstad has also volunteered with organizations like the Austin Public Library, the Greenwich Library’s Adopt a Shelf program, Neighbor to Neighbor, STAR Inc. and Lighting the Way in Norwalk, Connecticut, demonstrating a longstanding commitment to service.
In addition to her induction into numerous honor societies, Ms. Lovstad earned recognition by VoyageAustin for her tireless work ethic and success. Among her most notable accomplishments, she has developed processes that have significantly improved operational efficiency and has led several strategic initiatives within professional organizations.
