Mark W. Ward, Partner at Ward & Lawless LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the fields of lobbying and election law.
Mr. Ward developed expertise in lobbying and campaign finance compliance while working as the Secretary of the U.S. Senate’s administrator for foreign travel and lobbying disclosure from 1994 to 2000. He subsequently held the position of client specialist with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP from 2000 until 2008.
Mr. Ward obtained a bachelor’s degree in 1986 from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He is a master Mason, as well as a junior deacon and perpetual member of Merritt Island Lodge No. 353 Free & Accepted Masons. Mr. Ward was directly responsible for the implementation of the Lobbying Disclosure Act in 1995. He has published two books covering the topics of legislation, litigation and lobbying.
As a reserve officer with the Maryland Natural Resources Police, Mr. Ward notably rescued people from a plane that had crashed into water. For his heroism, he received a Lifesaving Award from the Maryland Department of Transportation. He was also an instructor at the aforementioned agency’s training academy.
