With offices in Niagara Falls, New York, and Orange, California, the business is primarily engaged in designing, manufacturing and servicing coordinate measuring machines and other related software. Mr. Helmel has also worked extensively with Hansford Parts and Products.
Prior to embarking on his vocational journey, Mr. Helmel pursued a formal education, studying mechanical engineering at the University of Rochester and completing an apprenticeship as a machinist at the Engineering College in Mannheim, Germany, from 1960 to 1964. He is deeply passionate about his work, putting happiness before profit, and he attributes much of his success to his education and practicality. In the coming years, Mr. Helmel expects that he will sell his company and retire.
