With more than 40 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Stansfield has excelled as a realtor with RE/MAX Town & Country in Rhode Island since 2019. Prior to this appointment, he held worked with Hanaway Real Estate for 18 years. Mr. Stansfield began his career with more than 20 years of municipal service in the field of law enforcement, in which he operated in various capacities and ranks, including patrol, traffic officer, sergeant, lieutenant, captain and deputy chief.
To support his professional efforts, Mr. Stansfield pursued an education at the Community College of Rhode Island, from which he earned an associate’s degree. He concluded his formal studies at Roger Williams University in 2013, from which he graduated with a bachelor’s degree. Moreover, Mr. Stansfield obtained his real estate license in 2001.
Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Stansfield has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his immediate circles. Formerly appointed as the chief of staff for the Mayor of Cumberland, Rhode Island in 2014, he currently contributes to the Cumberland Housing Authority as a commissioner. He also notably initiated a food waste program in an attempt to curb the amount of food waste at his local landfill. Moreover, Mr. Stansfield has maintained his affiliation with the Rhode Island Association of REALTORS, the Northern Rhode Island Board of Realtors, the National Association of REALTORS, the Fraternal Order of Police and the CMUFCU, for which he was selected as the President of the Board.
Mr. Stansfield attributes his success to his experience in helping people with their needs on a daily basis. He was drawn to his career in law enforcement after graduating from the Rhode Island Municipal Police Academy in 1993, and following his retirement, he was encouraged by his brother-in-law to shift his attention toward real estate on a full-time basis. Among his multiple professional highlights, Mr. Stansfield was fondly recalls being featured in a local newspaper with the Cumberland Police Department and the Mayor’s Office.
