With nearly 35 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Maiers has excelled as the mayor of the City of Holy Cross, Iowa since 2000 as well as an owner and marketing solutions broker with Safeguard Eastern Iowa since 2016. Moreover, he had been formerly active as a senior account manager for Deluxe Corp. from 2011 to 2016, a national account manager for Deluxe/Johnson Corp. from 1995 to 2011, the vice president of sales for The Johnson Group and Johnson Graphics from 1993 to 2006 and an account manager for Johnson Graphics from 1989 to 1993. He has additionally worked with Teleconnect, performed as a disc jockey and found success selling radio advertising over the years. Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Maiers pursued an education at the American Institute of Commerce, from which he obtained an associate’s degree in broadcasting in 1985.
Beyond his primary responsibilities, Mr. Maiers has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his field. Appointed to the Emergency Management Committee for Dubuque County since 2000, he also served as the vice president of the Holy Cross Parish Council from 1997 to 2001, a coach for a local little league from 1999 to 2013 and the president of the Western Dubuque Fine Arts Booster Club Board from 2014 to 2017. Also contributing to his local fire department and regional athletic clubs, he has received a number of sales achievement awards as a testament to his exceptional efforts. Attributing his success to his ability to nurture strong relationships with his network of buyers for three decades while maintaining a stable personal life and determined professional vision, Mr. Maiers plans to retire from mayorship while growing his business in the coming years.
