Stephen A. Wilcox, Co-Chairman of the Board for the European Sanctions and Export Control Society, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in export control, regulatory compliance and global economic stability.

Mr. Wilcox is an accomplished professional with decades of experience to his credit. Since 2023, he has served as the co-chairman of the board of directors for the European Sanctions and Export Control Society in Brussels, Belgium. He has also been the chairman of the board of directors for the UK Sanctions and Export Control Society in London, England, since 2023. Mr. Wilcox holds numerous similar positions, additionally serving as chairman of the board for the German Sanctions and Export Control Society and the Finnish Sanctions and Export Control Society.

In his current roles, Mr. Wilcox provides international security and economic stability through compliance with export controls and sanctions. He is at the helm of a framework of global industrial compliance. Prior to his present positions, Mr. Wilcox garnered experience as the chief executive officer of Global Trade and Compliance LLC, and a regional export control officer for the European Union and U.S. Department of Commerce.

Mr. Wilcox served in the U.S. Air Force as a Russian cryptologic linguist from 1996 to 2000. From 1999 to 2001, he was an all-source collections manager for Naval information warfare activity, and from 2001 to 2013, he was a senior special agent and foreign area officer with the U.S. government. For his service, Mr. Wilcox received a Gold Medal for Extraordinary Service for stopping a Russian illicit procurement network by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce in 2018. He earned a Counter-Intelligence Award from the U.S. Department of Defense in 2012 and an Interagency Award for Helping to Stop a Terrorist Network from the Assistant Secretary of Immigration Customs Enforcement in 2008.

To prepare for his career, Mr. Wilcox attended the Community College of the Air Force, where he earned an associate degree in communications. In 1998, he graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in Russian language and literature, and in 2015, he earned a master’s degree in international business from the same institution. Alongside his formal degrees, Mr. Wilcox earned numerous professional certifications. In 2001, he became a certified Federal Agent through the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.

Among his accomplishments, Mr. Wilcox is proud of his work with the ongoing war in Ukraine. In the coming years, he hopes to see a broader framework for sanctions and export control around the globe. In his spare time, Mr. Wilcox enjoys spending time with his fiancée and her dogs.
