Ashok C. Illapakurthy, Chief Executive Officer at 6S Pharma LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.
With more than 20 years of experience to his credit, Dr. Illapakurthy has excelled as the principal consultant and chief executive officer for Garrison PharmaTech LLC since 2017 and the chief executive officer for 6S Pharma LLC since 2023. In the latter position, he helps to develop products through the repurposing of approved drugs for affordable new treatments and indications in both India and the United States. Briefly working as the associate director of regulatory affairs for PAREXEL from 2017 to 2018, he previously served as the director of product development for Aizant Drug Research Solutions Pvt. Ltd from 2009 to 2012, the senior director of product development for Aizant Drug Research Solutions Pvt. Ltd from 2012 to 2014, and a CMC reviewer for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration from 2014 to 2017. Prior to these roles, he was active as a senior scientist with Purdue Pharma between 2003 and 2004 and a group leader with Covidien between 2004 and 2009. Dr. Illapakurthy began his career as a senior intern with Hoffmann-La Roche in Metis, New Jersey from 2002 to 2003.
To support his professional ambitions, Dr. Illapakurthy pursued an education at Kakatiya University, from which he initially earned a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy in 1997. He continued his academic efforts with a Doctor of Philosophy in pharmaceutics at the University of Mississippi in 2002. He concluded his studies at the University of North Dakota in 2023, graduating with a Master of Business Administration. Holding several patents, he has attributed his success to the unwavering support of his loving family, his wealth of education and training, and his unique experience working in the drug approval process for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Looking toward the future, Dr. Illapakurthy hopes to develop products for 6S Pharma LLC that will be commercially available in the coming years while addressing unmet medical needs and supporting patients in a direct and indirect manner.
