With more than 20 years of professional experience, Mr. Oldacre has established himself as a leader with the versatility to succeed across multiple fields. He began his career in finance in 2001, working as a government treasures analyst for Credit Suisse. In 2005, Mr. Oldacre launched his first company, VMIX, a media company that produced and distributed music, sports and entertainment content. He later became the chief operating officer of Audio Video Computers and Automation Systems, a technology company specializing in smart software and products. In 2016, Mr. Oldacre founded BK Brownstones LLC, marking his shift into real estate with a focus on multi-family housing in the greater New York City area. This endeavor led him to co-found his latest business, AoRa Development LLC, a construction and real estate development organization specializing in renovating older buildings to make them sustainable and energy-efficient.
Mr. Oldacre’s work with AoRa Development is particularly notable for winning a New York City Building hackathon contest in 2021, an achievement that helped introduce radical changes to the city’s permit process that significantly lessened the time needed to get a permit. His performance in the field has been supported by an education that includes earning a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Virginia in 1998. Following that, Mr. Oldacre has completed certification in a number of relevant skills, including construction robotics today from AEC Business, construction finance management from Columbia University, and commercial real estate from Cornell University. Further bolstering his role in an energy-conscious company, he serves on the board of the Energy Improvement Corporation. Mr. Oldacre was selected as one of 14 delegates from the United States and Canada to attend a conference in Copenhagen, where he was introduced to a variety of energy companies and new technology solutions that he hopes to implement in his work. He credits his success to perseverance, grit and the lessons in communication and humility that he learned while participating in sports.
Beyond his career, Mr. Oldacre is a devoted father. In his free time, he finds joy in watching sports, spending time with his family and friends, and learning more about the latest technology trends, especially artificial intelligence. Looking ahead, Mr. Oldacre is focused on discovering new ways for his business to innovate in the construction industry. He is excited about AoRa Development’s ongoing efforts to convert office spaces in Manhattan and Brooklyn into residential properties.
