With two and a half decades of experience, Ms. Parker has built a successful career in health care, specializing in mid-revenue cycle, strategic development, population health, and value-based care. Since 2021, she has served as the president of compliance and education for mid-revenue cycle at Medovent Solutions, and as an adjunct professor for the Associate of Science program at American National University. Her responsibilities include helping health systems advance and establish outpatient clinical documentation improvement (CDI) programs aimed at delivering value-based care to patients. She also supports health systems in launching ambulatory outpatient CDI programs and population health initiatives, providing advisory services for mid-revenue cycle and CDI-related queries. Her prior experience includes serving as manager and assistant director of clinical documentation integrity at UC Davis Medical Center from 2020 to 2021, senior manager of clinical documentation integrity at Providence St. Joseph Health from 2015 to 2020, and CDI and health information management consultant, 3M 360 Encompass CAC workflow trainer, and project manager at MedPartners from 2013 to 2015. Earlier in her career, she worked as an inpatient and outpatient coder from 2010 to 2013, served as director of health information management at Jennings American Legion Hospital from 2010 to 2013, and health care consultant and health information management director and privacy officer at Southpark Hospital from 2007 to 2010.

Ms. Parker has contributed as a speaker at AHIMA in 2024 and at the Association of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists (ACDIS) in 2019, 2021, and 2024. In 2023, she presented at both the ACMA National Conference and the ACMA Leadership and Physician Advisor Conference. Her written works include “How CDI Professionals Can Lead the Clinical Validation Denials Process” and “The Year Ahead: 4 Areas of CDI to Consider” for AHIMA. She also co-authored “Elevating Clinical Documentation Integrity with Compliant Technology Adoption” and contributed to “Advancing CDI Practices During COVID-19 and Beyond” for ACDIS. Additionally, she led a 2020 webinar on “Clinical Documentation Integrity & Clinical Validation Denials” and was featured in the 2019 CDI Journal for her “Q&A on Clinical Validation Denials.” She has been a member of the California Association of Healthcare Leaders since 2023 and previously served as president of the Louisiana Health Information Management Association, SW District from 2009 to 2010. She is also affiliated with the American Academy of Professional Coders, AHIMA, and ACDIS.

Ms. Parker has laid a solid educational foundation, earning a Bachelor of Science in health information management from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2003 and a Master of Science in Health Administration from the University of Phoenix in 2009. Additionally, she completed a Clinical Documentation Integrity Outpatient Microcredential from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), and in 2023, earned a Risk Adjustment Coding Microcredential, became a Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP) through AHIMA in 2017, an Implementation Support Specialist/EHR Trainer through the ONC in 2010, and a Registered Health Information Administrator through AHIMA in 2005. Additionally, she holds a Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association.

Reflecting on her path, Ms. Parker takes great pride in improving community and patient care through innovative approaches. Her leadership in developing operational strategies has generated over $500,000 in savings from the inpatient denials management program she led and secured $2 million in outpatient claims within the ambulatory physician-patient care area. She attributes her success to hard work, a willingness to seize opportunities, and her commitment to clear communication. In the coming years, she aspires to attain an executive leadership role within the health systems, where she can have a broader impact on both local and national communities. She envisions taking on a strategy and business development role and hopes to see 80% of healthcare services delivered on the ambulatory side, emphasizing preventative care.
