As a cooperative threat reduction analyst at Octant Associates LLC, a woman-owned small business, since 2023, he has leveraged his extensive expertise to ensure national security policy. As such, Mr. Ibanez works closely with foreign leaders and ambassadors, discussing the significance of comprehensive security analysis, developing educational programs and fostering cross-cultural exchanges, regional growth, democracy and economic stability. Mr. Ibanez is also the founder of M.I. VIII Global Security Consulting LLC, promoting economic prosperity in African countries and educational cross-cultural exchange opportunities.
Throughout his career, Mr. Ibanez has led significant efforts and supported numerous U.S. Department of Defense projects as an authority in international relations. He has also successfully provided strategic risk analysis and collaborated with global stakeholders to inform decision-making. Before joining Octant Associates LLC in 2022, Mr. Ibanez was an analyst for Oxford Analytica and a project manager in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2013 to 2024.
Highly educated, Mr. Ibanez holds a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from Emory University and a master’s degree in international security policy studies from Georgetown University. He also completed the Truman National Security Project-Defense Council Fellowship and the Colin Powell Fellowship. Besides his professional endeavors, Mr. Ibanez has been active in civic affairs, serving as a member of MORS, NextGen USA and the Black Professionals in International Affairs (BPIA). Through the BPIA, he has represented the charitable, nonprofit membership association as its vice president, where he has been instrumental in supporting high school students and early career professionals. His goal is to expand BPIA’s presence in the Southeast and North Africa to provide more schools with similar advantages found in the U.S.
