Marjorie H. Reiter, PhD, chief executive officer and administrator at the Surgery Center of Central NJ, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in health care.
Dr. Reiter, an established health care administrator, has led the Surgery Center of Central New Jersey as its chief executive officer since 2023. In her prominent position, she oversees the organization’s ambulatory surgery center, leads clinical and financial operations with annual revenue of approximately $12 million, and reports to the governing board. Additionally, Dr. Reiter is the managing partner at DIY601 Consulting, a firm based in Allentown, Pennsylvania, providing her expertise to clients and leading complex projects. Her success is predicated on more than 30 years of relevant industry success, dating back to 1991 when she joined Stony Brook University as a service line director for cardiology and endoscopy.
Throughout her remarkable career, Dr. Reiter has worked for several respected health care facilities, including MetroWest Medical Center as the director of cardiology services, Saint Luke’s Medical Center as the director of the central managed care team, and Fresenius Medical Care as the regional director of operations. From 2017 to 2020, Dr. Reiter excelled as the regional vice president of operations at Community Provider of Enrichment Services, followed by her role as the director of physician practice services at Western Arizona Regional Medical Center between 2020 and 2021, and as the practice director of rheumatology at Lehigh Valley Health Network from 2021 to 2022. Just before joining the surgery center in New Jersey, Dr. Reiter was instrumental as the interim health services administrator for the Wellpath/Essex County Sheriff’s Department in 2022.
Besides her primary career endeavors, Dr. Reiter had the opportunity to spend time guest lecturing at institutions like DeVry University and the University of Phoenix. Becoming highly educated to support her tenure in the industry, she received a Bachelor of Science in psychology and history at Brandeis University, a Master of Public Health at Boston University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in health care administration at Capella University. She also completed a fellowship in health care management and received fingerprint clearance in Arizona and Pennsylvania. Dr. Reiter is an elected fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has been active with numerous civic and community organizations, such as the Girl Scouts of America as a troop leader and the Phoenix Symphony as a board and chorus member. In the coming years, she intends to continue serving as an inspirational coach and mentor to emerging leaders and focus on strengthening her organization.
