Robert Warren Button, PhD, Senior Analyst at RAND Corporation, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Naval Warfare.

Dr. Button, an expert in defense analysis and artificial intelligence, has been affiliated with the RAND Corporation for over two decades. As an adjunct staff member since 2021, he is contracted as needed to provide his expertise. Dr. Button’s contributions have been primarily related to the Australian government, the use of smaller ships, and theater security operations. His research has also been focused on unmanned, undersea vehicles.

Apart from his work at the RAND Corporation, Dr. Button was a senior analyst for Northrop Grumman Corporation from 2000 to 2011, where he led and participated in numerous projects, such as analyses of alternatives, long-range strikes, and missions and technologies for unmanned systems. Additionally, he spent nearly a decade with the Center for Naval Analysis, a federally funded research and development center for the Department of the Navy that specializes in conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses.

Becoming highly educated, Dr. Button holds a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics from the University at Buffalo since 1966 and a Doctor of Philosophy in mathematics from Carnegie Mellon University since 1975. As a seasoned expert, he has been credited with authoring numerous publications, including “Concepts of Operations for UAVs.” Today, Dr. Button focuses his research on the biochemistry of aging and Alzheimer’s disease, having discovered that aging in and of itself does not directly cause the disease. Civically, Dr. Button volunteers at a local hospital. In light of his success, RAND Corporation recognized his success with a Survivor’s Award after 10 years with the organization.
