Megan Lynn Gaillard, CGFM, CPA, CIA, CGAP, CRMA, CFE, CISA, CIGA, division director of corporate compliance at the Collier County Board of County Commissioners, and undergraduate program professor at Nova Southeastern University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in education.
With nearly two and a half decades of experience, Ms. Gaillard has established a successful career in education and forensic accounting. She currently teaches forensic accounting techniques at Southern Adventist University, has served as division director of corporate compliance for the Collier County Board of County Commissioners since 2022, and is an undergraduate professor at Nova Southeastern University and student mentor at Florida Atlantic University, both since 2023. Her experience also includes domestic animal services special assignment and division director of financial and operations support for Collier County Government in 2023, graduate program professor at Florida Atlantic University since 2021, consultant for Auditing, Forensics and Consulting, LLC since 2020, and assistant city auditor III for the City of Fort Lauderdale from 2021 to 2022. She has also served as director of audit for Palm Beach County’s Office of Inspector General from 2017 to 2020, internal controls manager for Collier County Government from 2015 to 2017, and senior internal auditor for the Collier Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller from 2011 to 2015.
Throughout her career, Ms. Gaillard has designed and implemented a comprehensive IT infrastructure to enhance data analysis. She is a published author of articles on ethics in professional journals and is currently working on articles exploring artificial intelligence and ethics, as well as ethics and financial debt. Her accomplishments also include public speaking engagements from 2015 to 2024 and the creation and development of internship programs to support emerging talent in her field. Additionally, she has served on the technical and training committee of the Association of Government Accountants since 2015 and its professional ethics board since 2019. She was vice president of education programs and vice president of the Palm Beach Chapter, Institute of Internal Auditors, since 2020, and chapter president from 2018 to 2020. She previously served as governor of the Florida West Chapter, and as secretary and education committee chair for the Naples Paradise Chapter.
Laying an educational foundation, Ms. Gaillard earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minor in psychology, magna cum laude, and a master’s degree in accounting and taxation, summa cum laude, both from Florida Gulf Coast University. She holds multiple professional certifications, including Certified Public Accountant, Certified Government Financial Manager, Certified Fraud Examiner, and Certified Information Systems Auditor. In light of her impressive undertakings, she was honored with the dynamic leadership certificate of proficiency, competent leader, and competent communicator from Toastmasters International, as well as recognition awards from the Palm Beach Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors. Her achievements also include the GAIN Up-and-Coming Leader Award and the GAIN Completion of Program Award for Emerging Leaders. She attributes her success to a strong commitment to corporate compliance, enabling her to enhance processes and implement proactive solutions for all stakeholders. In the coming years, she aims to improve government operations and rebuild taxpayer trust, as well as empower the next generation to reach their full potential and contribute to society.
