Before his tenure at Vallaris Advisors, Mr. Gerber worked for several other notable organizations as a chief financial officer, including SimSpace Corporation in Boston from 2022 to 2024, IronNet Inc. in Washington, D.C., between 2016 and 2022, WorldStrides Inc. in Washington, D.C., from 2007 to 2016, and Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation in Washington, D.C., between 2005 and 2007. Among numerous other C-suite positions, Mr. Gerber was the vice president of finance at Thrall Car Manufacturing, Duchossois Group (now Trinity Industries Inc.) in Chicago from 1997 to 2005 before becoming the executive vice president of the rail products business group between 2001 and 2005, where he completed the post-merger finance integration of over 80 plants nationally and internationally across five lines of business.

Highly educated, Mr. Gerber graduated from the prestigious Princeton University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical and aerospace engineering and from Harvard University with a Master of Business Administration in finance and operations in 1989. He also garnered software engineering certification through General Electric Company and was designated as a certified information systems security professional by the International Information System Security Certification Consortium. Besides his work-related accomplishments, Mr. Gerber has been active civically, chairing the finance, audit and retirement committees for the Washington National Cathedral Foundation since 2009 and serving on the board of trustees for the Tudor Place Foundation since 2023. Throughout his remarkable career, he has secured several U.S. patents, authored over 50 articles on cyber insurance, insurance business and cyber risk management, featured on national news on cybersecurity matters, was recognized as the Virginia Chief Financial Officer of the Year by Virginia Business, and continues to serve as a commentator on cybersecurity as an expert in his field.
