Frederick Walter Gleeson, president of Alamo Mechanical, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in heating and air.
With three decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Gleeson has established a successful career in heating and air systems, specializing in highly complex design, procurement, and installation of air conditioning systems for government, laboratory, and medical research facilities. Since 2021, he has served as founder and president of Alamo Mechanical, a company that provides heating, ventilation, and air conditioning services, with 90% of its work in the federal sector. Under his leadership, Alamo Mechanical has undertaken projects on military installations and collaborated extensively with general contractors. His experience also includes roles such as Midwest regional sales manager at Addison HVAC from 2015 to 2021, sales development manager for the southwest region at Advantix Systems from 2013 to 2015, and regional account manager at Engineering Economics Inc. from 2011 to 2013. He also served as sales manager at HTS from 2002 to 2010, construction administration and commissioning agent at Marmon Mok Architecture from 1999 to 2001, and test and balance supervisor at Alamo Controls from 1994 to 1999.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Mr. Gleeson has been actively involved in industry-related and civic organizations. He served as a regional treasurer, chapter president, and regional resource promotions volunteer for ASHRAE over three years. He is also a donor to the Children’s Shelter in San Antonio. Laying a strong educational foundation, he earned a Bachelor of Science in business and engineering from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1993. Reflecting on his path, he believes his career in air conditioning was a natural fit, stemming from his upbringing in a family immersed in the HVAC industry. His father, an owner and salesman for a commercial training company in San Antonio, Texas, introduced him to the various types of air conditioning equipment. He began working for his father during high school and continued after college at an HVAC control firm for five years. He later expanded his expertise, spending five years designing HVAC systems, a decade selling equipment, and another 10 years in the HVAC equipment manufacturing space. In 2021, he established Alamo Mechanical, marking a significant milestone in his career.
One of Mr. Gleeson’s most notable achievements occurred during his time in manufacturing, when he secured Target Corporation as a client. He sold 2,500 dedicated outdoor air unit systems and advanced equipment for outdoor air management, securing a contract worth approximately $65 million. This deal transformed the company he worked for, boosting its annual revenue from $20 million to $100 million within just 18 months. Another key accomplishment was his role as an ASHRAE regional manager, where he became the first to fundraise $1 million over three years. He attributes his success to his deep industry knowledge, unwavering dedication, and hard work. Looking to the future, he aims to establish the Alamo Mechanical brand as a recognized leader in the greater San Antonio area. His vision includes growing the business to achieve annual revenues of $10 million, ensuring its sustainability as a legacy for his family.
