With over four and a half decades of experience, Ms. Powell has established a distinguished career in consulting, specializing in troubleshooting and project management. Since 1977, she has served as president of PJW Enterprises Inc. Her experience also includes roles such as co-host and producer for Mountain Money and Community Voices, and guest host for The Local View on KPCW Radio from 2010 to 2012. She also co-wrote “Follies” for The Egyptian Theatre from 2005 to 2008 and worked as a consultant and technical writer for Resources Connection from 1999 to 2000. Earlier in her career, she served as interim IT financial liaison at Spelling Entertainment from 1989 to 1991, instructor at the Computer Learning Center in 1987, senior consultant for Richard J. Yost Associates in 1986, and director of information systems at NorthWest Quadrant from 1985 to 1986. She has also worked as an independent consultant, management advisory services consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, and systems programmer at IBM.

Laying an educational foundation, Ms. Powell earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Southern California in 1967 and a Master of Fine Arts in professional writing from the same institution in 1983. Reflecting on her path, she was the first woman from Pricewaterhouse to work on a project in Mexico, breaking gender barriers in accounting and consulting. She also contributed to the success of international projects and became a role model for women in business. Additionally, she authored “Carry Your Way Through Y2K,” a technical book recognized as essential for small and medium-sized businesses, simplifying complex technical concepts for non-experts. To further her contributions in the field, she dedicates her time to organizations such as the Authors Guild, the Society for Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, and Willamette Writers.

Ms. Powell takes great pride in the quality of the people she has worked with, especially those committed to creating positive change. She attributes her success to taking responsibility and putting in the effort. Looking to the future, she aspires to complete her memoir, sharing valuable lessons on leadership, attention to detail, and effective time management, including practical strategies for tackling challenges and planning for success.
