Establishing himself across nearly 15 years, Mr. Golnabi’s career started as a default servicing team lead at Bank of America in 2010. He later accepted the responsibilities of an officer and business control specialist at that organization, aiding the company in risk management. In 2013, Mr. Golnabi joined Grant Thornton LLP as a senior associate of business consulting. Concurrently with that role, he also took on the positions of experience manager and business consulting manager, holding both for 10 years.
Recognized for his contributions to the organization, Mr. Golnabi was promoted to director of business consulting at Grant Thornton LLP in 2019. Since 2023 he has served as the company’s managing director. Mr. Golnabi oversees numerous projects and works alongside multiple teams at Grant Thornton LLP. He specializes in helping client companies improve their financial performance and efficiency. Mr. Golnabi considers his work during the COVID-19 pandemic to be a career highlight, as he assisted several companies in surviving the unique challenges of that moment. He provided guidance in the processes for closing and reopening physical locations, as well as helping organizations redirect their business from physical locations to online.
In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. Golnabi was a member of the board of directors for Kids-U from 2015 to 2021. Kids U is a Canada-based school devoted to early childhood education. As a member of the board, Mr. Golnabi participated in the finance committee. He helped determine Kid U’s overall mission statement, as well as ensuring the organization had access to the necessary resources to sustain itself.
Mr. Golnabi’s performance in the field has been supported by his academic journey, beginning with a bachelor’s degree in general studies from The University of Texas at Dallas in 2007. In 2010, he obtained a master’s degree in finance and financial management services from the same institution. Subsequently, Mr. Golnabi earned a Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University in 2018. Dedicated to lifelong self-improvement, he has continued his education through a variety of training programs. Mr. Golnabi is certified as a project management professional, as a black belt in Lean Six Sigma, in coaching culture through LinkedIn, and in using feedback to drive performance through LinkedIn.
To remain aware of developments affecting the industry, Mr. Golnabi has maintained his professional affiliation with a number of pertinent organizations. He is actively involved in the Project Management Institute Inc. and Young Professionals.
Mr. Golnabi attributes his success to perseverance and discipline, even in the face of difficult tasks. He views every challenge as an opportunity for growth and learning. He also notes the support of his wife and mother, and the mentorship of his father, a physics professor. Mr. Golnabi was born in Texas but lived in Iran throughout his childhood and until he graduated from high school, where his father taught him and encouraged him to pursue his dreams of contributing to society through his work.
Outside of his professional life, Mr. Golnabi finds enjoyment in watching sports, playing baseball, going to the gym, and spending time with his wife. As his career moves forward, he aims to take on positions of further leadership at Grant Thornton LLP. Mr. Golnabi hopes to continue making a noteworthy impact on the lives of his colleagues and clients through hard work, experience, and wisdom.
