David Meade, operations manager and co-owner of Katy Hydraulics LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in hydraulics.
Built on a foundation of more than 20 years of experience in management, entrepreneurship and skilled labor, Mr. Meade’s career has culminated in his role as operations manager and co-owner of Katy Hydraulics LLC since 2016. This organization offers one of the largest and most diverse inventories of hoses and hydraulic fittings in Texas, making it an invaluable resource for both individual technicians and large-scale operations in the state. Under Mr. Meade’s leadership, Katy Hydraulics provides such essential items as air conditioning lines, brake lines, tire steering components and manufacturing parts that are no longer produced or have lengthy wait times. Since launching the company in 2016 in Katy, Texas, he has opened additional locations in the cities of Waller and Columbus, increasing their coverage throughout the state.
Rather than viewing Katy Hydraulics LLC as just a business, Mr. Meade has carefully crafted the organization to support and boost his values, with a focus on hard work and customer satisfaction. He operates the company based on the motto: “If the customer comes in at 100 miles an hour, we have to be running at 120.” Mr. Meade encourages his employees to develop personal relationships with customers and treat them as friends rather than transactions. He likens the atmosphere of Katy Hydraulics to the TV show “Cheers,” calling it “a place where everybody knows your name.”
Mr. Meade also takes great pride in utilizing Katy Hydraulics to offer mentorship and a meaningful career path to young people in the area. Around 90% of his employees are under the age of 25, and many of the older employees have been with the company since they were 18 or 19 years old. The Waller and Katy locations are now managed by 25-year-olds who have been with Katy Hydraulics for years.
Before his time with Katy Hydraulics, Mr. Meade established himself in the restaurant and hospitality industry, serving as general manager of business development and event planning for Norris Conference Centers and general manager of business development and new market openings for Texas de Brazil, a Brazilian steak house restaurant chain. His professional life began in 2004 as a restaurant and bar manager for Chili’s Bar and Grill, where he later contributed to business development.
Dedicated to civic advocacy as well, Mr. Meade supports a number of charities and small local ministries. In particular, he was involved in coordinating missions for New Creation Church from 2002 to 2007. Mr. Meade maintains membership in the National Association for Hose and Accessories Distribution, solidifying his commitment to staying updated on the latest advancements in his field.
Outside of work hours, Mr. Meade is a devoted husband and a loving father to three sons. In his free time, he finds fulfilment in hunting, shooting and cooking. Having already expanded Katy Hydraulics LLC from one shop to three, Mr. Meade looks forward to continued growth in the future, with plans for two additional locations already in the works. He has also founded a second business that will help supply all current and future Katy Hydraulics locations, creating a seamless business model while mitigating the tax burden on the company. Mr. Meade hopes to eventually open a warehouse that can serve as the main distribution point for his company’s various retail locations.
