During this period, he was responsible for managing unclaimed property accounts and ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations. Between 2008 and 2010, Mr. Barrett served as an ITIL/ITSM change analyst at Rockwell Automation, a company specializing in the manufacture of automation machinery. In this role, he facilitated the implementation of change management by developing, monitoring and improving ITIL processes.
From 2006 to 2008, Mr. Barrett served as a senior financial analyst with the U.S. Department of Defense, working with Lockheed Martin Information Technology. His tenure was marked by significant achievements, including his work as a certified military accounts adjudicator for the U.S. Department of Defense. In this capacity, Mr. Barrett specialized in interpreting military law for retired service members and later advanced to become a federal agent within the department’s Euro division. There, he conducted investigations into financial discrepancies, missing personnel and equipment across military branches, utilizing his fluency in German and international experience. Mr. Barrett’s direct reporting to senior leadership was significant in providing critical oversight of retired military pay operations during the mid-1990s.
Before these roles, Mr. Barrett served as the chief pricing analyst at Alltel, a wireless telecommunications provider based in Little Rock, Arkansas, from 2005 to 2006. He also succeeded as a financial analyst at Key Bank, headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, starting in 2001.
Highly educated in support of his career, Mr. Barrett received a Bachelor of Arts in contract law from The Ohio State University in Columbus in 1993 and a Master of Business Administration in international management and finance from Baldwin Wallace University in Berea in 2001. These academic achievements have provided him with a strong foundation in both legal frameworks and global finance, directly supporting his success in complex analytical roles.
In addition to his formal education, Mr. Barrett holds numerous certifications that underscore his technical proficiency. He holds certifications from the Blockchain Council as an artificial intelligence expert in military information systems technology, a cybersecurity expert in computer information technology administration, a decentralized finance expert, and a Hyperledger developer. Among other credentials, Mr. Barrett is recognized as a Scrum Master by the Scrum Alliance and as a certified information assurance military accounts adjudicator by the U.S. Department of Defense.
Mr. Barrett is an active member of several industry-related organizations, including the Blockchain Council. Active in civic affairs, he is affiliated with the National Association for Watch and Clock Collectors. He also serves as a ward leader for Ward 15 in Cleveland, as well as the parish council president at Saint Clement Church, a position he previously held at Saint Christopher’s Church.
In recognition of his exemplary service while employed with the U.S. Department of Defense, Mr. Barrett was honored as a three-time recipient of the Director’s Awards for Outstanding Service and Exemplary Service issued by Assistant Deputy Director Phillips Hudson of the U.S. Department of Defense between 1995 and 1997.
Looking ahead, Mr. Barrett aims to advance the blockchain industry with a particular focus on cryptocurrency integration into financial systems.
