As the principal owner and architect at Taylor Design Studio, LLC, in Atlanta, Georgia, since 2022, he has built his business from the ground up, focusing on trust and respect. Motivated by his father’s entrepreneurial spirit and a desire for independence, Mr. Taylor transitioned from small-scale projects, such as bathroom renovations, to larger undertakings, including a $3 million private residence. His dedication and perseverance have transformed modest beginnings into a thriving enterprise.
Before founding Taylor Design Studio, LLC, Mr. Taylor served as an associate principal at TVS Design, an award-winning architecture and interior design firm based in Atlanta, from 2018 to 2022. In this role, he contributed to high-profile projects and further honed his leadership skills within the architectural community. Between 2017 and 2018, Mr. Taylor excelled as a project architect at Gensler in Atlanta. The global architecture, design and planning firm is headquartered in California.
Mr. Taylor’s earlier experience included serving as an architect at 5GStudios in Atlanta from 2016 to 2017. He also had the opportunity to work as a senior associate at TVS Design for 10 years, beginning in 2006, where he played a key role in numerous significant commercial projects. Mr. Taylor’s professional journey started in technical support at Design Integrations, Inc., in 2003, where he was pivotal in providing support and training to architects and designers while working for a reseller of Archicad during his college years.
Mr. Taylor’s academic background includes earning a Bachelor of Architecture from Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, Georgia, in 2006. During his studies, he completed coursework as an intern architect at CUH2A from 2005 to 2006, which provided practical experience that proved invaluable throughout his career. Additionally, Mr. Taylor has been certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards since 2021 and completed the Foundations of Hotel Planning program at Cornell University in 2025.
Throughout his career, Mr. Taylor has formed partnerships with prominent firms, such as HKS and HOK. Moreover, Mr. Taylor has become recognized for his contributions to notable projects, including the Music City Center in Nashville, Tennessee, the Music City Convention Center, also in Nashville, and the Cobo Center Renovation in Detroit, Michigan. He has also contributed to significant developments, including Mercedes-Benz Stadium and Centennial Yards Development in Atlanta, Georgia. Meanwhile, Mr. Taylor’s work with the Atlanta Braves led to multiple projects at The Battery, demonstrating his ability to leverage industry connections to secure unique opportunities.
Civically engaged, Mr. Taylor is affiliated with the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce and actively supports local business initiatives. In light of his success, he has been featured by Urbanized Atlanta. Among his proudest achievements, however, was the formation of his firm, overcoming significant challenges early in his career to establish a respected presence in the field.
The foundation of Mr. Taylor’s success lies in hard work, dedication, follow-through and integrity, values instilled by his father and grandfather. Inspired by witnessing his father build a business after being laid off from Atlantic Steel Company, where both his father and his grandfather had worked for over six decades combined, these experiences shaped Mr. Taylor’s commitment to excellence and entrepreneurship.
Looking ahead, Mr. Taylor is enthusiastic about the organic growth of his business and aims to build a specialized architectural firm that remains modest in size while delivering exceptional services. He is passionate about partnering with other small businesses and minority-owned firms to provide specialized services through meaningful collaborations within the industry.
