Before joining Largo Capital, Mr. Sumpter built a robust foundation at Franklin Street. He advanced through several roles over just a few years, beginning as a capital advisory intern in 2022. Mr. Sumpter subsequently held positions as an analyst from 2022 to 2023, a financial analyst between 2023 and 2024, and a senior financial analyst until 2025. Throughout his tenure at Franklin Street, Mr. Sumpter honed his skills in financial modeling, deal structuring and client advisory services. He distinguished himself by prioritizing integrity and service-oriented solutions over transactional approaches, often connecting clients with opportunities that best suited their needs.

Before entering the real estate sector, Mr. Sumpter worked internationally as a protective security specialist for Triple Canopy, a Constellis Company, a leading provider of risk management and operational support services to government and commercial clients worldwide. Based out of Baghdad, Iraq, he served as the principal recovery element commander for the U.S. Department of State embassy team from 2019 to 2021. In this role, Mr. Sumpter was responsible for safeguarding American ambassadors during off-site meetings and ensuring their secure return to the embassy compound. His responsibilities required exceptional leadership under pressure and a commitment to operational excellence.

Mr. Sumpter’s professional journey began with distinguished service in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2010 to 2014. He initially served as a machine gunner from 2010 to 2011, then advanced to machine gun team leader in 2011, and machine gun and rifleman squad leader from 2012 to 2014 with the 1st Battalion, 9th Marines.

Mr. Sumpter’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice from American Military University in Charles Town, West Virginia, completed in 2022. He also earned an undergraduate certificate in real estate management from American Military University that same year.

Beyond his formal education, Mr. Sumpter’s commitment to professional development is further reflected in his active memberships in several industry organizations, including the Society of Real Estate Professionals, the Real Estate Investment Society, the Commercial Real Estate Women Network and the Saint Petersburg Downtown Partnership.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Sumpter is deeply engaged with civic initiatives throughout Tampa Bay. He volunteers for school drives and fundraisers supporting post-9/11 veteran communities and participates in beach cleanups organized by Keep Pinellas Beautiful. Mr. Sumpter is also a supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project and local humane society efforts.

During his military career, Mr. Sumpter demonstrated valor and tactical acumen in combat operations in Afghanistan. He was decorated numerous times, receiving the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with Valor in 2014 for his actions during a critical engagement in which he and his team successfully neutralized enemy threats under heavy fire. Other accolades included a Certificate of Accommodation, a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, a NATO Medal, a National Defense Service Ribbon and two Navy Sea Service Deployment Ribbons.

Mr. Sumpter attributes much of his success to a genuine desire to help others achieve their goals and to the mutual support shared with his business partner. Their camaraderie has been instrumental both during their military service and throughout their subsequent careers in real estate finance. Mr. Sumpter finds fulfillment in mentoring junior analysts and interns within his field, guiding them toward realizing their potential.

Looking toward the future, Mr. Sumpter remains committed to supporting community development initiatives throughout Tampa Bay, particularly those focused on resiliency planning and floodwater management. He is motivated to collaborate with local agencies and government leaders to improve conditions for residents facing similar challenges.
