Mr. Kemerley, vice president of product management and business development at National Diversified Sales Inc., a wholesale building materials company based in California, has held his leading role since 2022. In this capacity, he sets the strategic direction for multiple product lines and the overall business, developing growth initiatives that encompass sales strategies, new product launches and marketing campaigns. He is also responsible for empowering his team with a clear vision and the necessary support to execute plans, and for collaborating closely with sales leadership, operations leadership and the executive team. Furthermore, Mr. Kemerley coordinates engineers in new product development and product administration while overseeing the engineering department’s responsibilities. His expertise in strategic marketing, product management and innovation, as well as business leadership, has been instrumental in driving organizational success.

Before joining National Diversified Sales Inc., Mr. Kemerley served as the senior director of the retail channel and the interiors product line at James Hardie Building Products Inc. from 2019 to 2022. In this capacity, he led the retail channel strategy and managed the interiors product portfolio, focusing on expanding market share and enhancing customer engagement through innovative solutions.

Promoted to the role of senior director, Mr. Kemerley first served as a multi-family segment lead at James Hardie Building Products Inc. from 2015 to 2017, where he directed efforts to grow the multi-family housing segment and commercial business unit by identifying emerging trends and tailoring products to meet evolving customer needs. Mr. Kemerley then earned the role of director between 2017 and 2019.

Mr. Kemerley’s earlier experience included working in the food sector. He was a senior brand manager for Sara Lee Sweet Goods at Tyson Foods Inc. from 2014 to 2015. He was also a senior brand manager for Hillshire Farm Innovation at Hillshire Brands between 2013 and 2014.

First hired by Sara Lee in 2003, Mr. Kemerley was a senior analyst of revenue and controls, where he focused on financial analysis and process improvement. He then became a trade controller from 2005 to 2007. From there, Mr. Kemerley served as a senior manager for Project ENABLE at Sara Lee until 2008, then became a senior category planning manager, followed by brand manager and a senior brand manager for Jimmy Dean Sausage at Sara Lee. As a senior brand manager, Mr. Kemerley successfully turned around the Jimmy Dean business unit. Facing an underperforming division, he developed a comprehensive sales strategy, created a new marketing and profit plan based on commodity trends, and successfully executed both. Mr. Kemerley’s efforts transformed the business and drove substantial growth in a previously struggling area.

Mr. Kemerley began his career as a senior consultant with Deloitte & Touche from 1999 to 2003. This opportunity allowed him to provide advisory services that laid the foundation for his future leadership roles.

Mr. Kemerley’s academic background includes earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting with a minor in management information systems from Miami University in Oxford, completed in 1999. He soon received a Master of Business Administration in marketing, strategic business management and entrepreneurship from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, in 2003.

In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Kemerley has demonstrated civic commitment through service on the board of directors for Christopher House since 2012. He also enjoys volunteering and coaching boys’ basketball during his personal time.

Throughout his career, Mr. Kemerley has been recognized as an expert in his field. He has been quoted in building materials and remodeling magazines when launching new products or providing industry insight. Additionally, Mr. Kemerley was recognized for producing a video for the International Builders’ Show, further establishing his visibility within the industry.

Mr. Kemerley credits the values instilled by his parents, along with his spouse’s support, hard work, trust and authenticity for shaping his character. He attributes his success to gaining cross-functional experience throughout his career by working in financial and sales roles, participating in enterprise resource planning implementation projects and gaining expertise in marketing. Notably, Mr. Kemerley often made lateral moves and sometimes passed up promotions to build his diverse skill set. Looking ahead, he plans to lead an organization as either president or chief executive officer with a focus on strategy development and cross-functional enablement while overseeing an entire organization or business unit within a large global company.
