Wesley Paterson, President and Senior Management Consultant at Paterson Consulting Inc. and Business Development Facilitator, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements and leadership in Management Consulting.

Mr. Paterson has become well known for his expertise as a certified management consultant, recognized for his work with startups and innovative companies across energy, manufacturing, healthcare and government. Since 2017, he has served as the president and senior management consultant at Paterson Consulting Inc. in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, leading more than 500 consulting engagements and transformative projects that have garnered national and international acclaim.

In addition to his primary role in consulting, Mr. Paterson has been a health and wellness business owner and corporate wellness consultant at Sedona North since 2017. He has also contributed to Medicine Hat College in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, as a business development facilitator in continuing studies since 2023, after previously serving as a corporate training officer from 2018 to 2022. Mr. Paterson’s involvement with the Experts On Demand Program at Edmonton Unlimited began in 2023, further expanding his influence in supporting entrepreneurial growth.

Mr. Paterson’s expertise is further demonstrated through advisory board positions with Zagitas and BusinessWideView since 2024 and as a keynote speaker and facilitator at Cognition Hub Global since 2025. Additionally, he has served as an authorized partner with Manufacturing Analytics Ltd. since 2023 and with KIAMI, Matics and Evocon since 2025.

Mr. Paterson’s previous professional journey included serving as the general manager at VW Manufacturing Ltd. from 2016 to 2018, where he oversaw operational improvements and strategic initiatives. He also excelled as a program manager and safety instructor at SafetyConnections.ca, focusing on workplace safety education across Alberta between 2010 and 2016.

In preparation for his future, Mr. Paterson received a Bachelor of Management from the University of Lethbridge in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, in 2004, after completing a business diploma in marketing from Lethbridge Polytechnic in 2002. His commitment to lifelong learning is evident through additional certifications in advanced kinesiology and exercise science from Caduceus Inclined Kinesiology, in cannabis medicine for herbalists from Lodgepole Wholistic Studies and in a business accelerator certificate from Medicine Hat College. Mr. Paterson also completed a course design for online leadership workshop through Medicine Hat College in 2020, and holds a fourth degree black belt in Budo Taijutsu, a discipline that informs his leadership work.

Heavily involved in industry-related endeavors, Mr. Paterson’s memberships include the Canadian Construction Association, the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering, now HSPC, and the Management Students Society. He has also been a senior management adviser for the Management Advisory Services Program of the Canadian Association of Management Consultants since 2021, a board member of the Project Management Training Alliance since 2024, a founding member and vice chair of the Management Consultant Consortium of North America since 2024, an international associate of IMC USA since 2025, and a certified management consultant and oral assessor for the Canadian Association of Management Consultants since 2025.

Mr. Paterson has shared his insights globally as a professional keynote speaker, moderator or masterclass leader at events such as ÉduCanada in Monterrey in 2021, MovEd in 2024, IMC Armenia in Yerevan in 2024 and the Western Manufacturing Technology Show (SME) in Alberta in 2025. He also served as a guest lecturer at Fontys University of Applied Sciences in Germany in 2021 and at Fontys Venlo University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands in 2021. His signature keynote, “Drop the Rope: How to Lead Without Rescuing and Build Organizations That Thrive,” translates his book’s message into a practical platform for executive audiences.

Mr. Paterson’s civic engagement is equally notable. Since 2024, he has served on the board of advisers for BusinessWideView, volunteered with Project Management Training Alliance Inc., served as a senior business adviser for Futurpreneur and has co-chaired the Health & Wellness Committee at the Southeast Alberta Chamber of Commerce. He has also been a member of the board of directors of the Institute of Certified Management Consultants of Alberta since 2023 and a mentor to young professionals through programs such as the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce since 2023.

Among various significant initiatives under his leadership, Mr. Paterson was involved in converting abandoned oil and gas sites into micro solar facilities, which included developing road access and utility connections. This project was recognized with a Silver Project of the Year Award in 2024 and attracted media attention, including an interview with CBC. As the owner of Paterson Consulting Inc., Mr. Paterson and his team received Canada’s Top Consulting Award in 2024 for their work with the cleantech firm Carbon OxyTech, earning the national champion title, the Gold Project of the Year Award and a place among the Constantinus International Top 10. These achievements reflect Mr. Paterson’s commitment to sustainable development and innovation within the energy sector.

In recognition of his contributions, Mr. Paterson has received numerous additional accolades over the past decade. Among them, he was honored with a Recognition of Service by Medicine Hat & District Chamber of Commerce in 2013, the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal, an EDC Venture Award by Scale-up Essentials in 2021, a Canada and Client Impact Excellence Award in 2025 and recognition as the Management Consultancy Firm of the Year in 2025, among numerous others.

Mr. Paterson’s career reflects an unwavering commitment to innovation, mentorship, community service and advancing best practices within management consulting. On April 17, 2026, he released his debut book, “The Hero’s Rope: Stop Carrying People Across the River and Start Teaching Them to Cross Themselves,” which reached #1 Best Seller on Amazon in the Organizational Change category during launch weekend, within 48 hours of release. The book anchors his anti-hero leadership movement, equipping leaders to replace rescuing with capacity building through the 20 Rescue Behaviors framework, an online Leadership Transformation Tool and the AI Rope Coach. Looking ahead, Mr. Paterson is expanding learning and development programs through the Grab the Rope keynote and workshop platform, and is introducing seasonal and virtual schedules of tailored corporate programs focused on operational assessments and growth initiatives that integrate Industry 4.0 technologies where appropriate. He continues to advocate for sustainable energy solutions, such as microgrid solar projects involving schools or municipal buildings, to make energy more affordable across Canada and the United States.
