A significant milestone in Mr. Tesi’s career was his tenure as an air traffic controller at John F. Kennedy International Airport with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, where he served for four years following his military service. He quickly advanced to a GS-12 position and was on the verge of reaching GS-13 before departing from the role. This achievement stands out as Mr. Tesi’s most notable career accomplishment, reflecting his ability to thrive in high-pressure environments with rotating shifts that included days, evenings and midnights.
Before his work in air traffic control, Mr. Tesi served in the U.S. Air Force, where he received specialized training in the field. Although he initially aspired to become a pilot, his career path shifted to air traffic management, a field in which he excelled through his discipline and technical acumen. Additionally, Mr. Tesi worked as an agent for LegalShield (PPLSI), gaining experience in legal services and client relations through part-time roles during the early years of his professional journey.
Mr. Tesi’s academic foundation includes an associate degree in business from Fulton-Montgomery Community College, which he earned in 1975. The knowledge he gained through this program has provided him with essential business principles that have supported his success across multiple industries.
Civically engaged, Mr. Tesi has been active as a fundraiser with the Knights of Columbus. His dedication was recognized when he received the organization’s Knight of the Month award in 2025.
