Dr. McKinney has established a distinguished career spanning more than five decades, marked by visionary leadership and a commitment to service in both the nonprofit and business sectors. Since 1974, she has served as the executive vice president of Magnetrain World Group, where she has provided strategic direction and oversight, guiding the organization’s growth and impact in high-speed land transportation.
Leading a diverse, rewarding career, Dr. McKinney co-founded The Promise Channel in 2012, which has contributed to the development of online presence and internet ministries for a global audience. In 2019, she founded Pearl Cinema USA, further expanding her influence into the creative arts and entertainment industry. Among other ventures, Dr. McKinney co-founded Promise Christian University in 2002, an institution that focuses on training men and women for leadership and ministry, both inside and outside the church. Since its establishment, she has garnered over 675 alums, now serving throughout more than 20 nations. Dr. McKinney’s work with Promise Christian University reflects her dedication to education and ministry, reaching over 70 countries worldwide.
Dr. McKinney’s creative ventures also include her ongoing role as the author of “China Station” since 1992. The script was written in 1991 and was published as a novel in 2019.
Among other professional accomplishments, Dr. McKinney worked as a real estate agent with ERA Covina and Herbert Hawkins from 1988 to 1993, applying her knowledge gained through coursework in real estate principles and law at Mt. San Antonio College. Her early professional experience included serving as a savings officer at Glendale Federal Savings and Loan from 1973 to 1983 and as an office clerk with the County of Los Angeles Probation Department, dating back to 1969.
Dr. McKinney’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Theology and a Master of Theology in Christian education from the International Theological Seminary of California. She also acquired a Doctor of Theology in Christian education from Promise Christian University. Among other educational achievements, she completed coursework in real estate principles and law at Mt. San Antonio College. She also completed global diplomacy studies and received a certificate of completion in managing a company of the future from the University of London in 2021. Moreover, Dr. McKinney is a licensed life insurance agent and holds chaplaincy certification through the United States Volunteers-Joint Services Command.
In addition to her primary roles, Dr. McKinney holds several significant positions within influential organizations. She is the vice president and an executive board member of Film Advisory Board Inc., a nonprofit organization based in Hollywood, California, that evaluates and recommends the best in family features, movies, videos and other media projects, since 2020. Dr. McKinney has also been recognized as a world changer with Mighty Dove Global since 2020 and as a member of the board of governors of the National Association of Nonprofit Organizations and Executives since 2017.
Among other involvements, Dr. McKinney is a member of the Evangelical Press Association, the Christian Educators Association International, the National Association of Nonprofit Organizations and Executives, the Covina Chamber of Commerce and World for Jesus International Ministries, among others. She has also served as a campaign manager for House of Representatives candidate David Truax and has volunteered across various auxiliaries and service organizations. Furthermore, Dr. McKinney has held the rank of lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Volunteers-Joint Services Command since 2008. Her long-standing involvement with the Civil Air Patrol and the U.S. Air Force included roles as a captain and a character development officer.
Throughout her career, Dr. McKinney has demonstrated exceptional administrative skill in helping numerous nonprofit organizations grow and thrive. In 1979, she began travelling with her husband to the Philippines as ministers, leading major crusades throughout Southeast Asia that drew thousands of attendees. Their collaboration with Brother Eddie Villanueva in Bocaue contributed significantly to what would become one of the world’s largest ministries, Jesus Is Lord Church, which recently celebrated its 45th anniversary.
Dr. McKinney’s accomplishments have earned her numerous awards, including a Volunteer Award presented by President George Bush, recognition as the Public Air Officer of the Year for California and the Pacific Region, and a Service Above Self Award from Rotary International. She also received several meritorious honors from the U.S. Government.
Looking ahead, Dr. McKinney aspires to continue traveling with her husband as he preaches internationally, while seeking opportunities such as riding MagneTrain’s inaugural route or attending premieres for their film projects, further exemplifying her lifelong dedication to innovation, service, faith-based leadership, creativity and global impact.
