Since joining the organization, Mr. Cruz has been instrumental in developing new markets and building strong client relationships with major corporations, including Procter & Gamble, Mattel, Nokia and Motorola. From 2013 to 2020, Mr. Cruz was a regional sales manager at Capco Plastics in San Diego, California. In this role, he continued to hone his skills in packaging solutions, with a focus on printed folding cartons, blister cards, paper blisters and flexible packaging. Mr. Cruz’s expertise enabled him to deliver innovative solutions tailored to client needs and to drive significant revenue growth in both the United States and Mexico.
Between 2005 and 2012, Mr. Cruz served as a senior account executive at PaperWorks Industries, Inc., where he managed key accounts and contributed to the company’s expansion into new markets, including the northwestern region of Mexico, California and Arizona. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a deep understanding of packaging technologies and market trends, earning recognition for his dedication and results-driven approach.
Mr. Cruz’s entry into the packaging industry began around 2000 in Mexico City, Mexico, when a pivotal encounter during a marketing meeting led him to join the sales team at Carmon. This experience allowed him to merge his interest in marketing with practical sales skills, setting the stage for a rewarding career.
Mr. Cruz’s academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Business Administration in business management, marketing and related support services from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in 1993. His education provided him with essential knowledge of business strategy and marketing, which has been integral to his professional achievements. Mr. Cruz speaks both English and Spanish.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Cruz is actively involved in civic initiatives throughout San Diego. He donates to local police departments, supports homeless communities through charitable contributions, and participates in blood drives and community donation events.
