Steven R. Haddix, Hospice Chaplain at CHP Home Care & Hospice, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements and leadership in Ministry and Hospice Care.
Mr. Haddix has dedicated five decades to ministry and spiritual care, establishing a reputation for compassion, guidance and steadfast service. Since 2022, he has served as a hospice chaplain with Community Health Professionals Home Care & Hospice in Delphos, Ohio, providing daily, weekly and as-needed support to hospice patients and their families. In this role, Mr. Haddix is recognized for helping individuals and their loved ones find peace during life’s most challenging moments. His expertise in teaching and comforting those facing terminal illness and grief has made him a valued presence within the organization.
Before his current position, Mr. Haddix built an extensive ministerial career as both a pastor and a minister of youth and music. Beginning his ministry in 1975 while still in college, he accepted a full-time youth and music position at a larger church in Indiana rather than attending seminary. Over the years, Mr. Haddix served congregations in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and South Carolina, including a nearly decade-long tenure as pastor of a church in Delphos, before retiring from full-time ministry in July 2025.
Throughout his pastoral career, Mr. Haddix led six youth camps and directed numerous programs that fostered personal growth and spiritual development among the youth. He is particularly proud of the enduring impact he has had on individuals’ lives, such as an eighth-grade student from his first youth group who later served as a music director for 25 years.
Mr. Haddix’s leadership extended beyond spiritual guidance to organizational achievement. Under his direction, three churches achieved their best financial results in two decades, receiving the highest attendance and most funds during his tenure. Mr. Haddix also led churches that received awards for their accomplishments. His approach has always emphasized individual transformation over numerical growth, guiding people to discover their purpose and serve where they are called.
In addition to his primary roles, Mr. Haddix has contributed to initiatives such as Blessing of the Hands, Honors Health Care Workers, and Rays of Hope Grief Camp for Children and Youth. These efforts reflect his commitment to supporting not only patients but also health care professionals and grieving families.
Mr. Haddix’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in religion with a minor in biblical languages from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Ohio, an institution affiliated with the Church of the Nazarene, where he was raised. He furthered his education through coursework at Israel Bible Center near Jerusalem, earning certificates in Old Testament studies, New Testament studies, and Jewish text and culture under the instruction of Messianic Jewish scholars. He continues to pursue annual studies at this institution, valuing lifelong learning as essential preparation for ministry. Additionally, Mr. Haddix is an ordained minister of The Wesleyan Church and has maintained active membership throughout his career.
Mr. Haddix attributes his success to authenticity and focus, and his qualities have been recognized by colleagues and the many he serves. Eager for the future, he aims to further support patients, families and staff by working closely with leadership to enhance care delivery and provide comfort not only to those receiving services but also to nurses and staff during difficult times. Through these ongoing efforts, Mr. Haddix seeks to deepen his impact within the organization and the broader community.
