Scott Michael Swartz, Co-Owner and Chief Executive Officer at Unlimited Possibilities and Garrow Villa, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the Home Care Facility Services Industry.

Mr. Swartz’s career is marked by a steadfast commitment to providing quality care for individuals with developmental disabilities. As the co-owner and chief executive officer of Unlimited Possibilities and Garrow Villa since 2012, he has overseen the growth of the organization from its inception to its current operation of six locations. These include two duplexes, three houses and a 20-bed facility in Brillion, Wisconsin. The organization functions as an adult family home, offering services similar to assisted living.

In his leading role, Mr. Swartz manages hiring staff, oversees taxes, payroll and insurance, and ensures smooth business operations and compliance with banking and other regulatory matters. His wife, Erica, serves as the primary caregiver and is responsible for all caregiving-related aspects. Together, they have built a business that emphasizes fairness and dignity for every resident.

Launching Unlimited Possibilities was a significant milestone for Mr. Swartz. He officially established the company in 2012 and began operations in 2015 by transforming a renovated duplex into the first corporate residence for individuals with developmental disabilities. The business quickly expanded to three additional homes within the first year. During the COVID-19 pandemic, one home was temporarily closed but has since reopened. The company later acquired Garrow Villa and another house on Locust Street, bringing its total to nine locations at its peak before settling at six active sites. Mr. Swartz takes great pride in having achieved this growth independently with his wife, without relying on bank or partner financing.

Mr. Swartz’s entry into the home care facility services industry was inspired by his wife’s experiences in healthcare claims and caregiving roles in Eau Claire and Green Bay, Wisconsin. After exiting Humana, she returned to her passion for caregiving. When one of the homes where she worked was sold to another company, she chose to stay with her clients through the transition and gained insight into the administrative side of the business. She then proposed starting their own venture to Mr. Swartz, who eagerly supported the idea despite initial uncertainty about how such businesses operated. Although several acquaintances expressed interest in partnering with them at first, only Mr. Swartz and his wife moved forward with the project. Their perseverance paid off as they successfully established Unlimited Possibilities on their own terms.

A high level of financial expertise has been instrumental in Mr. Swartz’s success as a business owner and executive. His ability to manage complex financial matters such as payroll, taxes and insurance has ensured the stability and continued growth of Unlimited Possibilities. Achieving this level of expertise in finance is a testament to his dedication to learning and adapting within a challenging industry.

Before founding Unlimited Possibilities, Mr. Swartz spent two decades at Menards Corporation, a big-box home improvement retail chain headquartered in Eau Clair, from 1997 to 2017 as a manager for one of its pier departments. This experience provided him with valuable operational expertise and an understanding of business management that would later support his entrepreneurial endeavors.

Mr. Swartz earned a high school diploma before embarking on his professional journey. While he did not pursue higher education at a college or university level, he has demonstrated that practical experience combined with determination can lead to substantial success in business ownership. However, to further support his role as an executive in home care facility services, Mr. Swartz received a certificate for administration from the Wisconsin Assisted Living Association. This credential has enhanced his understanding of regulatory requirements within assisted living environments and contributed directly to effective management practices at Unlimited Possibilities.

Mr. Swartz attributes his achievements not only to his financial acumen but also to his caring nature and determination never to give up. He credits his wife as the heart of their caring approach while recognizing that both are inherently compassionate individuals who complement each other well in business operations and client care. Transitioning from retail management at Menards Corporation to healthcare services was a significant change, but helping others came naturally to Mr. Swartz once he began assisting his wife in the field.

Beyond professional responsibilities, Mr. Swartz is civically engaged as a donor for Shop With A Cop and as a volunteer delivering Christmas toys to children at Garrow Villa. These activities reflect his ongoing commitment to giving back to the community served by his organizations.

Looking ahead, Mr. Swartz remains committed to growing their organization while maintaining high standards of fairness and respect for clients. He plans to acquire additional properties and is exploring investment opportunities, such as Airbnbs in St. John that could provide steady income streams, while remaining self-sustaining assets for his family’s future security. Mr. Swartz is also interested in acquiring a 118-bed building that is currently unusable but could be rehabilitated if appropriate solutions are found. He hopes to connect with Senator Johnson regarding potential strategies for making this facility viable again, given the increasing demand for beds across Wisconsin.
