Since 2017, he has found success as the director of sales at Elite Imaging Systems, the largest Copystar/Kyocera dealer in Southeast Michigan and a leading independent provider of office equipment and document management services. Recruited by the company’s owner to drive strategic growth, Mr. Tomlinson has been instrumental in expanding Elite Imaging Systems’s reach throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Europe. Under his direction, the company has experienced remarkable growth, increasing from a $5 million enterprise to a $12 million powerhouse. Mr. Tomlinson’s leadership has also enabled the sales team to consistently surpass quotas for over five consecutive years, while individual team members doubled their incomes during his tenure, a testament to his dedication to both organizational and personal success.
In addition to his primary role, Mr. Tomlinson concurrently worked as a professional trainer with Virtual Baseball from 2011 to 2023. In this capacity, he provided specialized coaching and development for athletes, leveraging his expertise in communication and motivation to enhance performance outcomes.
Between 2009 and 2017, Mr. Tomlinson contributed as a business solutions consultant at Toshiba Business Solutions. During this time, he advised clients on optimizing their business processes through technology integration and workflow improvements, further honing his skills in client relations and strategic planning.
Mr. Tomlinson’s earlier experience included serving as an account executive at Lease Corporation of America from 2008 to 2009, where he managed client portfolios and facilitated leasing solutions for businesses across various sectors. He also excelled as a senior mortgage banker at Quicken Loans between 2005 and 2008, where he developed expertise in financial services and customer engagement.
Mr. Tomlinson began his professional journey as the head softball coach at Oakland University in 2000. In this leadership role, he guided student-athletes in both athletic and personal development for five seasons, laying the foundation for his lifelong commitment to mentorship and team building.
Mr. Tomlinson earned a Bachelor of Science in organizational communications and marketing from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo in 1996. He credits much of his success to a college professor who encouraged him to explore diverse communications projects. This mentorship broadened his perspective on the versatility of his degree, inspiring him to pursue opportunities in marketing, advertising, coaching, leadership and business, all of which he has since pursued with significant contributions. Further demonstrating his commitment to continuous learning and personal achievement, Mr. Tomlinson obtained a pilot license in 2015.
Since 2015, Mr. Tomlinson has remained actively involved in various professional organizations, including the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. Civically engaged, he has served as the president of his homeowners’ association since 2023 and is a member of his local chamber of commerce. Mr. Tomlinson also actively supports charitable organizations, including local food banks, Toys for Tots, Tunnels to Towers, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the American Red Cross. His dedication to service is rooted in the principles instilled in him during his youth, where he earned the distinction of Eagle Scout through the Boy Scouts of America in 1987.
Mr. Tomlinson’s achievements have been recognized with numerous honors, including multiple sales awards throughout his career and an ongoing Leadership Award every year since 2017. Additionally, he was inducted into the Oakland University Hall of Honors in 2025.
