Ms. Polite’s distinguished career in human resources and organizational leadership spans three decades, marked by her expertise in culture building, employee and management development, and benefits and compensation strategy. She currently serves as the director of people and as a human resources executive at the Texas Civil Rights Project in Austin, Texas. In this capacity since 2024, Ms. Polite has acted as a strategic adviser and advocate for employees within one of the state’s largest civil rights organizations.

Among a range of responsibilities, Ms. Polite is tasked with managing comprehensive human resources functions, collaborating with executive leadership on people strategies, fostering a positive organizational culture, overseeing talent acquisition and onboarding programs for new attorneys and staff, and ensuring compliance with employment regulations. She is also instrumental in managing benefits programs, developing compensation strategies, supporting unionized staff relations, and leading initiatives that prioritize employee engagement and well-being.

Ms. Polite’s approach to leadership is deeply rooted in her faith-centered values and a servant leadership philosophy. She is known for her authentic commitment to helping individuals recognize their value and potential. She consistently demonstrates courage in providing honest feedback while advocating for both organizational goals and employee interests. Her empathetic nature also allows her to connect personally with staff members at all levels, making her a trusted mentor who prioritizes the growth of others above personal accolades. Before joining the Texas Civil Rights Project, Ms. Polite built an impressive tenure at Geico Insurance Company over more than two decades. Her journey with the organization began in 2001 as a sales associate, followed by her tenure as a sales supervisor from 2002 to 2006, and as an insurance operations manager between 2006 and 2013. These foundational operations roles provided Ms. Polite with direct insight into frontline operations before she transitioned into human resources leadership.

Ms. Polite later transitioned into the role of regional human resources director at Geico from 2013 to 2021, where she oversaw human resources functions across 10 states. She provided guidance on employee relations, talent management, benefits administration and leadership development throughout this period. From there, Ms. Polite spent 2021 to 2023 as the director of corporate compliance. In this capacity, she managed compliance efforts across multiple departments to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies for a large workforce.

While serving as director, Ms. Polite simultaneously served as the associate experience director at Geico’s corporate headquarters between 2022 and 2023, where she was responsible for organizational onboarding and employee engagement initiatives for approximately 40,000 employees nationwide. During this time, she developed programs that supported new hires’ integration into the company’s culture while enhancing overall engagement. Ms. Polite retired from Geico in 2023.

Before her corporate career at Geico, Ms. Polite worked for the 21st Century Scholars Program, a nonprofit, early-college promise program designed to make higher education more affordable for Indiana students. It was during this time that she discovered her passion for community service and nonprofit work that continues to inform her professional ethos today.

A lifelong learner dedicated to continuous improvement, Ms. Polite holds a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Phoenix since 2006. She has also earned numerous professional credentials that further distinguish her expertise. Among them, Ms. Polite received a labor relations certificate from Cornell University, a certificate in diversity and inclusion in human resources management from HRCI, and a Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) certified professional designation.

Ms. Polite’s commitment extends beyond professional achievements to active involvement in industry organizations, including membership with SHRM, Influential Women and DallasHR. These affiliations enable her to remain engaged with evolving best practices while contributing thought leadership within the human resources community. Beyond her professional endeavors, Ms. Polite volunteers with The Coventry Reserve, a civic-minded organization, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to community service.

In addition to her executive roles, Ms. Polite is a published author whose works include several career-focused books, such as “From Layoff to Lay Up” and “The Job Search Blueprint: Strategies for Turning Setbacks Into Career Success.” She also authored “Becoming Who I Want to Be: A Life Journal for Purpose, Alignment, and Renewal,” which helps readers gain clarity on their purpose through guided reflection, “90-Day Prayer Journal: A Journey of Faith, Reflection, and Renewal” and, among others, “Sparty’s Adventures,” a children’s series promoting friendship. Each publication reflects Ms. Polite’s passion for empowering others through storytelling.

Ms. Polite’s accomplishments have been recognized through several industry honors, such as the EBN Award for excellence in benefits management, nomination for Geico’s Corporate Quality Award, a Baddie Award and various leadership awards throughout her career. She attributes much of her success to her faith, which provides strength during challenges, and to mentors who have shaped her journey with guidance rooted in compassion and service.

Looking ahead, Ms. Polite remains committed to expanding her impact as a leader by authoring additional books focused on heart leadership philosophy, emphasizing compassion alongside accountability, and speaking widely about these principles at conferences or executive forums. She continues to inspire those around her by living out her mission of service, helping individuals realize their worth, while fostering environments where both people and performance thrive together. Ms. Polite’s goal is to create a lasting cultural legacy by investing in future leaders through training sessions or executive initiatives that promote growth-oriented workplace cultures grounded in empathy.
