Years later, Dr. Lewis earned a Doctor of Philosophy in technology from Capitol Tech University in 2021. Although he was offered a faculty internship at NASA in information security, Dr. Lewis chose instead to pursue work with the U.S. Army out of a desire to directly support military operations.
Throughout his career, Dr. Lewis has attributed his success to several core values instilled by his family, including hard work, humility and perseverance. Raised by Pastor Eugene Lewis and Johnnette Lewis, whose marriage has spanned nearly five decades, he was taught that unwavering effort is more important than innate intelligence. The faith-based principles imparted by his parents have guided Dr. Lewis through challenges and shaped his approach to leadership and service.
