As the co-founder and chief executive officer of Coverage Compass in San Jose, California, since 2025, he has focused on building strategic partnerships and expanding the company’s network within the insurance industry.
Under Mr. Yararbas’s leadership, the company has leveraged advanced AI, particularly in intelligent document processing, to address the complex needs of insurance agencies and managing general agencies. By utilizing large language models and multimodal understanding through partnerships with leading technology providers like Google, he has positioned Coverage Compass to help agencies interpret intricate insurance documents and streamline policy conversions for both consumers and IT companies.
Before his current role, Mr. Yararbas served as an engineering manager at Eventbrite in San Jose from 2025 to 2026. His tenure at Uber Technologies Inc. in Sunnyvale, California, between 2021 and 2025 as an engineering manager was marked by his responsibility for managing insurance-related integrations between Volvo and Uber. This role deepened Mr. Yararbas’s expertise in the insurance sector and contributed significantly to his nearly three decades of experience developing comprehensive insurance solutions.
Mr. Yararbas worked for Volvo Car Corporation in Mountain View, California, initially as an engineering manager in 2018 and then as a senior engineering manager during much of 2021. During this period, he led teams while remaining hands-on with technical responsibilities. Recruited from BMC Software’s TrueSight Intelligence division in Santa Clara, California, Mr. Yararbas spent 2014 to 2018 as a development team lead, involved in central architecture team tasks.
Among several other progressive roles with companies like Actiance Inc. (now Smarsh Inc.), BMC Software Inc., Coradiant and Trilliant Holdings Inc., Mr. Yararbas also distinguished himself by early work as a solutions architect and engineering manager for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization SPX program, dating back to 2006. In this capacity, he developed software solutions and comprehensive databases for chambers of commerce in Qatar and Xi’an, China, training staff members and supporting small- and medium-sized enterprises in emerging markets. Mr. Yararbas also co-founded JFORCE Information Technologies in Turkey in 2003, where he served as an engineering manager until 2008.
Mr. Yararbas’s educational foundation includes a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Türkiye, conferred in 1998. He also completed coursework in law at the Turkish Military Academy, an experience that broadened his analytical skills and contributed to his multidisciplinary approach throughout his career. To remain current with evolving technologies, Mr. Yararbas pursued additional education that has enhanced his leadership capabilities and technical acumen. His most recent credentials include Balanced Scorecard and Key Performance Indicators, Skip-Level Meetings, Project Management Foundations: Requirements, Creating a High-Performance Culture, Working with High-Conflict People as a Manager, and Leadership Foundations courses, all through LinkedIn Corporation.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Yararbas is civically engaged as a volunteer with various libraries, a reflection of his commitment to lifelong learning and community service. Other involvement has included contributions to a blog about his software experiences and through several projects, such as the P1 – Improve Json Transfer Performance in 2017 and Photo Pitcher since 2017.
Among Mr. Yararbas’s most notable achievements are four U.S. patents within his field between 2019 and 2024. Three of these patents focus on search and semantic understanding within the insurance sector while one addresses electrification, a testament to his versatility as an inventor. Notably, the patent developed during Mr. Yararbas’s time at Volvo remains part of the company’s intellectual property portfolio.
Mr. Yararbas’s career is further distinguished by his ability to identify market opportunities, engineer new solutions, test advanced models developed by leading technology firms and expand partnership opportunities across the industry.
