Backed by a love for education, Mr. Sells was inspired to spearhead his business from his passion for helping people build their careers. For 28 years, he has served as the CEO and founder of the American Spirit Institute, an educational facility committed to offering the highest quality innovative classes to heal the body, empower the mind and lift the spirit. Offering professional schools in massage therapy, esthetics, nail technology and waxing technology, the American Spirit Institute seeks to encourage the development of healthy and caring lifestyles for students and others. Prior to taking on this entrepreneurial endeavor, Mr. Sells was the founder of New Heritage Inc., LifePrime, Inc. and One World Village.
Looking back on his career trajectory, Mr. Sells attributes his success to the desire to help people and guide them in becoming more self-sufficient. He is very fond of the lessons and mentorship he gained from the late Senator John Hines, a member of the Melon family and many others he met while working as a campaign coordinator for former President Jimmy Carter. Today, Mr. Sells holds membership with the Children’s Home of Pittsburgh and Brownsville Historical Society, of which he is a past president to both organizations. Dedicated to his work, in five years’ time, Mr. Sells sees himself working on developing a program for the preservation and sustainability of his recently purchased farm. Mr. Sells received a Bachelor of Science in psychology and went on to achieve a Master of Public Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. Additionally, he acquired a Master of Divinity from the Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh.
