Bruce M. Winchell, President and Chief Executive Officer at Win Partners LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in patent law.
Having accrued more than 45 years of professional experience, Mr. Winchell has built a tremendous reputation for his success practicing intellectual property, government contracts and technology business law. Professionally, he has flourished in his role as president and chief executive officer of Win Partners LLC in Albuquerque, New Mexico since 2016. Specializing in patent law, his investment efforts have led to a very profitable fund in excess of $1 million since founding his firm. In addition, Mr. Winchell authored and taught classes on world markets legal issues for international marketing classes at the University of New Mexico from 2012 to 2020.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Winchell served Sandia National Laboratories for 22 years until 2016 as the director and senior attorney, as well as a U.S. DOE laboratory managed by the company, a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Corporation. He had also worked for Martin Marietta Corporation an assistant general counsel from 1991 to 1994 and as director of patents, legal and technology center services in the early 1980s, having been a member of the general patent counsel at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory between the roles from 1984 to 1990. In addition, between 1973 and 1982, Mr. Winchell was assistant secretary of patent counsel at Lamson & Sessions Co., patent counsel member at Diamond Shamrock Corp. and an associate at Hamilton, Renner & Kenner.
Finding great success in his career, Mr. Winchell was named to the Best of the Bar in New Mexico in 2011. Notably, he taught 972 inventors how to write and file U.S. Patent Applications from 2006 to 2016, who were then awarded as a group of 825 US Utility Patents in the 10-year time period. To remain abreast of advancements and changes to his industry, Mr. Winchell maintains affiliation with the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Licensing Executives Society of Canada and the U.S. and the American Chemical Society. In his spare time, Mr. Winchell enjoys cross country skiing, investing the Win Partners 401K fund and marksmanship competitions.
Matriculating at the University of Akron, Mr. Winchell received a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and a Bachelor of Arts in speech in 1970, as well as a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1974. He has been admitted to practice law by the Ohio and Tennessee Bar Associations, the U.S. and Canadian Patent Offices and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth and Federal Circuits. Mr. Winchell is a registered patent attorney in the United States, a registered patent agent in Canada and is a certified licensing professional through the Licensing Executives Society. To attest to his legacy, Mr. Winchell can also be found in the 25th edition of Who’s Who In Finance and Industry, the sixth edition of Who’s Who in American Law and the second edition of Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
