As a portfolio manager, Mr. Reynolds has prospered for over two decades in managing investments and providing advice to institutional and individual investors around the world.

Hailing from Ireland, Mr. Reynolds obtained a Leaving Certificate in 1980 from Castleknock College in Dublin and followed with Bachelors of Arts in engineering and mathematics in 1986 from Trinity College in Dublin. After immigrating to the United States in 1988, he continued his education with a Master of Business Administration in finance and entrepreneurial management in 1993 from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Mr. Reynolds provided superior service as managing director of convertible securities in North America with Deutsche Bank from 1997 to 2002, portfolio manager of convertible arbitrage strategies with the Clinton Group from 2002 to 2003 and senior portfolio manager of convertible arbitrage strategies with SAC Capital from 2003 to 2006. Since 2007, he has excelled as lead portfolio manager and managing director with The Rathmore Funds, Lazard Asset Management, LLC, in which he oversees $3.5 billion in hedged credit, capital structure, convertibles and convertible arbitrage strategies.

Keenly concerned with community and educational ideals, Mr. Reynolds’s civic memberships include the Provost’s Council with Trinity College Dublin and has included International Council of the Global Leadership Foundation He is an advisory board member with the 69th Regiment “The Fighting Irish”; a United States advisory board member with Trinity College Dublin; and was an advisory Bd Member to The Huntsman Program at the University of PA. Mr. Reynolds has supported the New York Angels investment group, the GOAL USA Fund as a Board Member, the Abbey Theatre (The National Theatre of Ireland), Irish Screen America and the Irish Film Institute, and the Dublin International Piano Competition.

According to Mr. Reynolds, key factors in his success have been a strong set of fundamentals in mathematics and the sciences as well as curiosity and a drive to compete to achieve to be one’s best. Celebrated among the Wall Street 50 by Irish American Magazine in 2000, 2001 and 2013, funds that he oversees were honored with the 2010 Absolute Return Award for Arbitrage & Convertibles Fund of the Year, the 2010 HFM Week US Event Driven Award, the 2011 Hedgeweek Award for Best Convertible Arbitrage Manager, the 2016 Alternative Credit Intelligence US Performance Award for Convertible Arbitrage Fund of the Year, the 2020 MondoInvestor for Best Liquid Alternative Relative Value Arbitrage Fund, the 2021 Hedgeweek Americas Award for Best Relative Value Fund and the 2022 Hedgeweek US Award for Best Convertible Bond Arbitrage Hedge Fund. Mr. Reynolds likens the market to a puzzle which constanly needs solving, which keeps it interesting for him year after year.
