David A. Caputo, President Emeritus at Pace University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in education.

Serving more than five decades in higher education, Dr. Caputo was the president of Pace University from 2000 to 2007 and president of Hunter College from 1995 until 2000. He worked at Purdue University from 1969 to 1995, last serving as dean of the institution’s School of Liberal Arts. He is additionally active as an adjunct professor with Colorado State University and the co-chairman of the New York State Regents’ Professional Standards and Practices Board.

After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, in 1965, Dr. Caputo continued his education with a master’s degree and a doctorate in political science from Yale University. He is the author of “Urban America: The Policy Alternatives and the co-author of Urban Politics and Decentralization.” He was inspired to enter the field of education for the opportunity to change lives by educating students.

Dr. Caputo was selected for inclusion in annual editions of Who’s Who in the World from 2006 to 2008, Who’s Who in America from 1987 to 2008, and Who’s Who in the East from 1999 to 2010. He was also highlighted in the seventh and eighth editions of Who’s Who in American Education and the 23rd edition of Who’s Who in the Midwest.
